I cannot say I'm totally surprised.

Yeah, if I was ever considering a Fazua powered bike, I'd be pulling the plug now.
I just can't imagine having a 60nm motor with a maximum of 480wh battery. That's about half a normal eBike ride for me and I have a small enough battery.

It's been "promised" for over two years, kept being put back, what a disaster! Motor reliability problems looks like the "known" brands have dropped it now anyway. Pity, I was expecting great things when Porsche bought in

They really botched it, that's for sure. Are there any new models even being offered with Fazua?

Not that I expect any good resale value on any ebike, but it's gonna be painful when I sell mine.

Maybe someone will come out with a bolt-in cage that fits the Fazua mounts, allowing me to strip the electronics out and run a conventional drivetrain — turning my Heckler SL into a Bronson.

YT recently brought out the Decoy SN but that's not that reassuring... 😄

A fair amount of whinging I’ve seen on fb regarding the battery extender, if you bought the bike based on getting a range extender wowzer, look in all honestly though the 430 is heaps for a decent ride, no one’s doing a 100k ride mate, I can get 55 to 60ks out of a charge , that’s a decent hit out, and as a Fazua dealer I’ve definitely seen a fair amount of warranties come through, I’ve been through 2 replacements on my own heckler thus far but it’s been solid for over 12 months since, we’re early built drive units.

However my Bosch gen 4 over 7000ks not a single error code, for me the range extender wasn’t even a consideration, and the 480 is a waste of money.

My brother has one , 1200 km no (major) issues so far besides some creaking at the motor bolts. He likes it.

He just got the 480wh battery and there is a small improvement. The new remote is crap on the other hand. Looking at this it just points out clear, with no bike launch in the past 12 months, revenue going towards zero with piles of motors just coming back for repair that means clearly a sinking boat.

Honestly, fūck fazua. Everybody knows it's difficult to run a business in the biking industry through the last 5 years. They would have had a ton of Goodwill if they would have just been honest and upfront. But stringing everybody along with this promise only to pull the plug at the end is unforgivable.

I get everyone wanted the range extender, I would have bought one, but how often would you have needed it? I'm 190lb geared up and on the Relay PNW which is about 45lbs and in full assist I can do 24km with 1200m of climbing. That seems great. Two weeks ago I tunedi it down for a long ride and only used fuel assist on steep climbs and I did a 62km ride with 1800m of climbing.

Or maybe a Bosch adapter as they seem to have most battery options

My current expectations, Fazua will not make it to 2026.
They are owned by Porsche and they're going to release a whole line of bicycles so they'll definitely be around. That said our fazua 60 motors are probably orphans. Mine's a good one and I enjoy it. I just wish it had more power. Like if they would just give us the boost function full time I'd be very happy with that il and a 480w battery.

Doubt if Porsche want to market bikes with the current Fazua motors tarnished reputation so logically a complete redesign is just around the corner. Porsche bike with a Porsche motor sounds much better.

Can't say I'm surprised. The delays kept coming. I've owned the Relay PNW over a year and never needed a range extender. Most of my rides don't go longer than 20-25 miles/32 km and 3000 feet/900meters of climbing. I've done longer days and still had 10-15% of the battery. If I need to buy the 480 as a spare on super-long days so be it. I really like having a lighter bike that feels like an analog bike, and am not yet ready for a heavier bike with more power/longer range. It does suck that fazua keeps hurting their brand as it will really impact resale.

I can't say I'm surprised either despite the fact that I received a response to my contact about the subject just four weeks ago stating that it would be available this coming month. See below. (Note the date.)

I agree with some of the comments here about the range being adequate for normal riding with the the 430 battery, but, unfortunately for me, I'm one of those that like to do longer tours so having been waiting impatiently for the Range Extender. The whole Fazua situation is a great shame. It is a great motor to ride in my opinion if your looking for something with a natural feel, but the reliability issues and now this lack of range extender has definitely turned me off the Fazua company. Unless they produce an outstanding motor in the future that proves reliable, I won't purchase another Fazua equipped bike.

Good morning Andrew,
thank you for your feedback and please excuse my late reply.
Yes, we have postponed the launch of the Range Extender several times in the past because we simply wanted to ensure that we were bringing a flawlessly functioning product to market.
This led to the launch being postponed again and again during various stages of development, which we are truly sorry about and was never our intention.
Learning from mistakes makes us all better. We understand this and are doing everything we can to finally launch the range extender in September so that all riders can finally enjoy longer tours.
I therefore ask you to be patient a little longer. As soon as we have an exact date, we will announce it in our newsletter and on social media.
I hope you have a nice week and please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Best regards,
xxxxxx

Most bikes Porsche ever launched have been so ugly even their own mother would have trouble loving them

For sure some suits in an office though that with the electric cars hype, the ebike world would be booming so bought Fazua thinking it's a good launchpad. Seeing things go sour for sure the same guys who are driven by number will kill it in a heartbeat as it's clear Fazua is not driving any profit right now and will not in future either

I just remembered that Porsche bought out Greyp bikes as well and I haven't seen anything from them since...
