Sex Change

Do I need to have a sex change (I'm currently a bloke) to buy the woman's version of the Spectral On 6.

I ask because they currently/allegedly have my size, in stealth, in stock but women specific. They don't have one in the men's range.

I have checked the spec and geometry but can find no differences, it just seems to be the turquoise colour that is women specific. Even the saddle seems to be the same, which I didn't expect.

Am I missing something?

Have a sex change and you will definately be missing something!!

Only half the story .. He might also gain a couple of things .. and Peaky Rider will have a whole new meaning ..

This thread definitely needs some unreasonable sexist humour ... (sorry ladies, mixed gender, none gender, gender uncertain, men who feel left out without a joke of their own, reverse gender, inverse gender, gender upgraders, gender downgraders, virtual genders, gender influencers, trampoline genders, new genders, protected genders, mixed political genders protected)

Why do they name Hurricanes after women ...
When they come they're wet and wild ...
When they leave they take your house and car ...

again .. apologies.

I must say I do like the turquoise......but I’ve always been in touch with my feminine side & the lower rail means you won’t catch your bollocks on it so easily.......ohhh skuse my French

D'ya know, that's what I don't understand. Surely dangly old bollocks need more clearance that what the other lot have got and if it hadn't been for beady eyed HPR I'd have been none the wiser.

Maybe the men's design is stronger due to the number of fat old men, like me, to be found on e-mtbs.

I still think that the apparent different top tube angle and kink is down to the compared frame sizes being different. The seat tube is shorter on the S than the M wmn’s or men’s, so the lower kink helps stand over height, I think.

However, I can’t find a picture of a wmn’s M to check the kink angle (for want of a better description).

Have you been looking at those magazines again Steve?
The only porn I look at is bike porn.
For example, I particularly like this Santa Cruz, not sure why, there is just something about it that gets me going!

It's difficult to say for sure as some of the bikes obscured. But all the same you'd have to guess at great front suspension, the rear looks set firm, certainly not too much sag, and you'd probably be happy riding with it all day.

Not sure about riding with it all day, I'd flatten my battery within a matter of minutes... :giggle:

Well! This is my next dilemma.

I've always had a medium and my Focus is a medium, but their website says I need a small.
They say that a large minimum is 1,83 but there was no mediums, so I at 1,78 went with the large and am going just fine with it. I was concerned the dropper would get too tall but no problem there and the cockpit being short and wide and chainstays short also help i handle very well.

Only you know if you’re missing something ??.. I would definitely buy a woman specific bike if it was the right fit. I wouldn’t think twice about it.
You have enough excuses to make riding an e-bike according to analogue riders! so go for it.

It seems that the stem on WMN bikes is 10 mm shorter and the handlebar is 20 mm narrower compared to men's bike. I cannot find any other changes, in addition to the "kink angle".

Usually the diffrence between men/women mtb models is contact points which include handlebar width (narrower), lady specific saddle and suspension tune (lighter rider). Pretty sure there is no diffrence between frames as long they are the same size.

Haha! This is just a great joke. In fact, I don't see anything wrong with a man buying women's things if they are really nice or fit him. Often when I go to a clothing shop I almost always see beautiful and fashionable clothes, but they are women's clothes and men's are the most common. And I honestly don't understand who these uptight boys are who want to look like the Man from the movies and advertisements. After all, everyone knows that any man at heart wants to feel doe. So to hell with these stereotypes, it is necessary to remove the division into male and female.
