Went out with the mrs today for a few hours, and she bought a gel seat from Amazon, which she really likes. But it looks awful! I‘m not sold on the build quality either tbh.

What seats are the female members of the forum users using, or the wives of members? She wants something with loads of gel padding, not a slimline seat, so what do you lot recommend?

Actually, she probably doesn't, she just doesn't realise it. Shape is the most important factor in saddle fit and comfort. A properly shaped, correct size, women's saddle will be far more comfortable long term than some gel tat from Amazon.

Yep, gel isn’t always the answer, as I’ve found.

Well... if SHE likes it and it gets her out riding with you, that is a win. If YOU don't like it and try to get her something that SHE doesn't like, you will both lose. If SHE can tell you why she doesn't like a particular saddle, start there. If she is not wearing a chamois, no saddle will feel good for long. My wife swears by these:

+1 To Ergon seats I just got one for myself and it's incredibly comfortable, I went for the SM E-Mountain (Mens) but there's a Female version as well + other seats that are probably plusher.
 
Thanks folks, I’ll check out the Ergon options for her as they seem to come out well. I’ve ordered the SM E-Mountain to try out on my bike in the meantime.

The Ergon Core Prime SMC seats are amazing. They do everything Ergon says they do. I tried one to help with long days on the emtb with a heavy backpack and now have one on every bike.

Do you have the Active one? I recently bought a sqlabs 610 active but I'm not sure weither I can use the more flexible if the weight indicator says you have to use the black one

That's interesting. So what bike and saddle are you using it on? I've always thought soft padding isn't what is useful, what helps is the right shape of saddle for my anatomy.
