Rumors of 15kg 150mm e-bike?

Two weeks ago on the GMBN podcast Steve Jones definitively said within 6 weeks there will be a 15kg 150mm e-bike on the market. Does anyone have any info on this? Chances are it won't be available in the states so I guess I should keep my interest at bay, hah.

Unless they have found a way to beat the laws of physics it will have a low power motor and a very small battery. But it will be carbon everything and as bling as a shiny sparkly thing.
 
It could be the Willier Limitless Evolution using the Fazua motor, come in at 15.9kg, but only 120mm of travel

TBH I dont think its that hard to mean a lightweight EMTB if you throw money at it, and, most crucially, it doesn't have a large battery - I can see anyway of making an EMTB approaching 15kg which uses any kind of 500wh or above battery with the current tech.
 
It dosen’t cost very much to make your emtb weightless. A few pieces of string, a bit plastic and some cheap gas.

Are you saying a Levo with different motor and battery will drop 10lbs or are you saying there will be a redesigned bike coincidentally named Levo with a different motor and battery?

The Fazua motored bikes aren't that much lighter than a Levo.
 
And the Creo isn't exactly much different from other road bikes with the Fazua system in terms of weight, so I cant see how anything which isn't a pure XC steed (like the Willier I posted above) is going to get to that weight if a FS
 
have they sussed carbon motor windings? that'll save some weight and if battery tech moves on with the development of these CO2 units we could have some very lightweight packages - probably by the time my wrists and knees have stopped working :D

The Creo in my book is very different. 27lbs/12.2kgs. Although it is a road ebike it is the first ebike to get an IP67 rating and is exactly what I am looking for on my next emtb. The sooner the better in my opinion. Like you said a pure XC bike like an Epic type FSR frame with 100 to 120mm of travel, a 100 more Watts of output and a slightly larger ‘in frame‘ battery, Carbon hoops, XC tyres....Hmmmm :unsure: let me think, that will probably add about 2.8kgs of weight to the bike. Would be good to also have the same option to add an additional battery into one of the 2 bottle holders on the frame if you so desired ;). So not a 150mm but a 100-120mm travel more XC based ebike.

I'm guessing it'll have 3 AA's for a battery pack. Hey, it still counts as a functioning ebike!
