Replacing Boxxer Select on 2020 Kenevo Expert with Fox 38 and would like to keep the original Roval DH front wheel and hub. Are there any 20x110->15x110 conversion/adapter kits available for this? Is it a DT Swiss hub?

I have tried to do the same with my 38’s. I used the MTB tools adapter the problem is the stock caps are wider than the area where the 15mm caps sit on the fox forks.

Outside of the 15mm diameter the surface area isn’t even. It becomes narrower so the caps would need to be machined to match the surface. I ended up filing mine to fit which worked for a while but I ended up with some excess play which I could feel in the corners when I pushed it.

It would be great if you find another solution, I have been looking for a while.

I e mailed specialized to ask what the hub was and explained what I was trying to do. They sent me a part number for the 15mm end caps that would fit the hub the problem is the MTB tools adapter is the full 110mm width and would not fit inside the 15mm caps.

I hit a dead end at this point and filed down my 20mm caps.

Seriously Jaakkokallio, dont convert the axle. Just buy a new wheel. I faced the same dilemma when upgrading my Kenevo 19 Expert from 180 Lyrik (15/110) to Suntour RUX 200mm (20/110). No matter how much research I did, the verdict always came back to the same conclusion of (buy a new wheel).
I did recently see the DT Swiss H1900 going for a good price (a sturdy alloy wheel).
Good luck my friend ?

Here is the part number for the 15mm end caps if you want to try what the rep from specialized recommended.

My solution that I was never really comfortable with.

The problem with the 15mm end caps from specialized is the axle will not be sitting on the heel bearings.

A new wheel sounds like the best option which is what I ended up doing.

Very valuable info, thank you all. So, a new hub it is then. Any recommendations for Fox38?

I’ve tried to convert the axle at first because my rovals had rebadged dtswiss hubs
I’ve used dtswiss end caps on other roval wheels and they worked
The problem with the Kenevo rovals is that the front wheel endcaps have a cover pressed in
This version of the hub does not allow interchangeable end caps

My solution was to get a 29er wheel to go with my 38 fork and go mullet

I'm curious to see how that works. Going from 20x110 to 15x110...?
It’s easy. I swap the front wheel with my Santa Cruz V10 and Kenevo with 38’s when i need to

So far i was able to do the conversion with dt hubs, i9 hubs (which actually have the same end caps as dt) and chris king hubs

certain versions of the hubs can be converted with interchangeable end caps and axle sleeves. 20mm diameter to 15mm is an easy change. 110 width remains the same

some do not require an axle change. Just the end cap

the bearings in the hub are the same size for 20x110 and 15x110. So basically the hardware for both sizes will fit

what I found will not work is going from boost to non-boost as the rotor will not align. It might work the other way around with rotor spacers as long as you have the correct axle conversion kit

and of course, the hub has to be the type that accepts conversion kits
