Unanswered riding in trousers (pants for the yanks) - and knee pads

I bought a pair of waterproof trousers (fox ranger 3L) and they dont fit knee pads underneath.. I also have a pair of alpinestars trousers they wont fit underneath either..

for those who ride in trousers, do you bother with the pads or not? or have I just bought the wrong pads or trousers?

I use POC VPD 2.0 pads which admittedly are quite bulky but.. manufacturers of these trousers know this..

I'm using smaller pads with trousers and POC pads when using shorts. I have Specialized DH trousers (or pants)

I got the same fox pants and use TLD knee pads with plenty of room .
I’m 34 waist and could have gone 32 as they are aren’t a tight fit !
Dobby ..... you know what they say about having BIG knees ?

I have POC VPD 2.0 and use Fox Flexair pants. They fit over them fine

I wear fox defend pants with sixsixone knee pads and they fit perfectly.

Endura MT trousers and Alpine Star DH , they fit

Altura mtb trousers with Leatt knee pads...no problem. Maybe you do need Pants ( i.e pantaloons!!)

Endura Singletrack work well with my POC VPD Air knees.
