rear hub, how much axial play?

I finished replacing the bearings in my Hydra hub, and I can easily move the axle back and forth by maybe 1/2 mm. I gingerly resquashed the bearings, and I think they are fully seated.

Naturally, because I have to make every mistake once, I didn't pay attention to the axial play before pressing the old bearings out.

Is 1/2 mm axial play acceptable?

No spacers missing and I bought the bearings direct from I9 to eliminate one potential source of error. I'll check for axial play in the bike tomorrow. I'm too grumpy right now to even just walk into the garage.

Wise man. Best to set it aside until clarity returns. I'd think that the amount of play should be approaching zero. If you can't figure it out tomorrow morning, I'd take it apart and clean everything all over again. It could be something as a little booger stuck behind a bearing.
