Rear brake hose & sensor catching spokes

I just bought a secondhand Relay and noticed that the brake hose coming out of the chain stay, needs enough slack for full compression (when it will end up tight), but at zero compression the hose is obviously slacker and tends to move in towards the spokes, (not straight up or down). Anybody else had this issue? I can't adjust the brake hose to be twisted to one side, and changing the banjo bolt angle doesn't help. I can only think to add some loose zip ties to it, to keep the hose closer to the stays instead of the wheel.

unscrew caliper from the frame, rotate 360° horizontal to put tension on the hose and screw it back on. The hose should then point outward not inward anymore. And of course doing this without the speed sensor still attached to the brake hose

I did try that first but it wouldn't spin that much. Maybe I need to get that rotation along more of the hose, as it was probably only happening from the swingarm to the caliper. I'll try again.

TBH- I use a ziptie for that, just tension it enough so that both cables stay close to the swingarm

I used a zip tie for a while. But my problem was the brake hose was too short. So I ordered a new brake hose and made sure it was twisted properly, no more zip tie.

The twisting of the caliper helped a little bit but it still bent inside towards the spokes too much.

Also, try twisting the caliper in the opposite direction you previously tried. Maybe the result will be better.

I've twisted it now, although it is still too twisted for how you would like it on any other bike (any twist at all isn't recommended), but I suppose it is working and doesn't seem like it is damaging it.
