Protection for bottom bracket mounted motors

I'm thinking of converting a full suspension bike (right now thinking Pole Vikkelä) to an EMTB (currently thinking CYC Photon for legal reasons, need to be 1000W or under). Have any of you added any sort of skid plate / bash guard or other protection for the motor for hitting rocks or other obstacles? Alternatively, have you been hitting stuff with the motor and how has it held up?
