Pre-order starts next month - Next Crestline Avinox frame set

I heard the bike should arrive at T’s place Friday or next Monday. So I’d expect shipping begin next week for most people.

Typical practice would be to inspect 10% of the incoming goods before shipping; and would usually move to inspecting 100% if the 10% quantity uncovers an issue. Let’s hope the factory in Asia did good work.

New Zeb featuring a crestline. I’m getting the Zeb with mine. Love the current Zeb. To be honest, all these new reviews seem very meh on the new Zeb. Hope its good

Are watching/reading the same stuff as me? Seems like a pretty significant upgrade. Addresses all the issues I've seen with the current/old zeb.

Some people complained about the old zeb riding into the travel too much, the new zeb looks like it does that even more so. Trust me I want this to be an epic fork, it’s the one I went with.

In that video just the eye test, the new zeb looked way up in the travel a lot. Now of course he also didn’t spend time tuning it to his preferences. But his times weren’t that much better and the trail looked significantly drier on the new Zeb runs. He didn’t have like a “holy crap” response after riding it.

Idk just after watching/reading a few reviews now i guess i just expected more stoke. In theory with all the stuff they did to it I was hoping for “game changer” kinda reviews.

Interestingly pinkbike called it muted with too slow rebound and another article I just read says it’s poppy lively and playful lol. I guess just gotta see myself.

My gut tells me that it’s such a departure from the status quo, no one really has the blue print on how to dial it in to their liking or had enough time to adjust ride style to its performance.

I run a coil fork on one of my bikes and love it. Except for the hard bottom out. Seems like this addresses those issues and when you need to bump pressure by 10psi to really feel a difference, that means it’s very tunable.

I’m looking forward to it!

Pretty sure they’re doing assembly of the motor, batteries and whatever suspension everyone ordered into the framesets in Bellingham, then shipping after that. So effectively everything is inspected, during assembly prior to shipping.

Beers was the only one that mentioned the rebound being set wide open- he didn't say too slow, he specified it was adequate at wide open.

Something I find interesting/promising is that he mentioned he had LSC and HSC both set at +2. Typically you want to have a 2:1 LSC:HSC ratio. Oil passes through LSC valving first- having the LSC restricted can do some funny stuff in my experience with MTB and moto suspension.

I'm not doubting Beers ability to set up MTB suspension, but the fact that he was the only one that had his rebound set wide open and his compression damping settings were unorthodox gives me pause. I wonder if he was getting stuck too far into the travel from oil flow restriction on the compression valving.

Here's to hoping its not an early adopter nightmare because I have it ready to go on my rig!

Sorry to make this thread about the zeb but I figure a lot of us chose that option.

I’m also a little disappointed they haven’t gone to floating axle.

All good, and since we are…

If the ABO bumper is raised, wont it effectively decrease travel? I know PB said it wont, but my dinosaur brain cant comprehend it.

Does the polymer bumper just expand while keeping the true bottom at the same spot?

There’s a really good showing of it on their site. Gives you a better idea how that works.

Hmm, 10% of 300 frames is 30. How long does it take to pop it out of the crate and make sure the battery didnt explode x 30? = 100%

They are a coming, hopefully soon now that Olive is sporting the 36 she came with!!

I am hopeful to convert my wife to the world of emtb with this old girl!

Time to shop for that new fork I reckon. Raw carbon with the Fox air, which points me to the new Fox 38 180 or?!

For the terrain I ride up here, this version addresses a lot of the complaints I have with the old Zeb. In the steep gnar, roots with big holes and drops, the old Zeb can get harsh with weird spikes and tons of feedback sometimes. This newer version seems more planted and tracks the ground well- stated in all the test reviews I've read so far. This is something I think I will notice when it really counts- steep gnar and big holes.
Less poppy and playful is the trade off it seems. Adding a bit more LSC and a touch of HSC with rebound open a bit more might be the ticket.
Not trying to convince you of anything. This seems like a solid upgrade for me. Nothing revolutionary perhaps, but I'm hopeful it is an improvement on my nitpicks of the old Zeb. I will find out soon enough! I can always swap to the old one if I hate it, I guess.

but they look so much better, my flash 35 next to my flash 38 was soooo tiny

Can you share a comparison between the 2 forks yet (outside of looks)? Include your weight and the travel it's set at as well.

Outside of Intend, you might be the only person that has first hand experience with both the Flash 35 & 38.

no. f38 is still uncut and the f35 is sold. waiting for the velduro to show up. but that takes longer, due to your president.

THX TRUMP

i just got a notification that troydon created a fedex label.
Same. 🤘

Message says tracking will go live after the April 9th launch.

There is also a you tube link to assembly video in the message, but the link says it's a private video and doesn't play.

Did you order a fork also? What was the weight of your shipment?
Based on the fact that a link to the assembly video came in personal message of the FedEx shipping notification, I'm guessing it's not just a fork.

Also, total shipment weight says 35 pounds.

Yes I did order a zeb. 35lbs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm guessing he wants to know since the forks were revealed before sea otter if troydon will ship earlier. Originally, orders with Zebs were to ship after 4/16.

We'll just have to wait and see. I'll get excited once my shipment is in transit. This could all just be Troydon prepping orders. Like his frames, his operations improves after each iteration. I'm sure we'll know more after 4/9, Troydon's very transparent.

Here is the YouTube link as well, in case it goes live or something sometime soon.

Were you alpine chalk or the carbon?
