I know folks say this and I'm sure some do it, but its like suspension clickers or frame/geo adjustments... I bet 95% of riders set and forget.

I have a few bikes, that cover my needs from winter to trail to enduro to gravel. I would never want to put faster and lighter tires on my enduro nor vice versa onto my short travel trail bike. I don't see the appeal, nor is it a big deal to buy wheels you like. Plenty of superboost hub options out there.

I wouldn't discount a bike because it has superboost, nor pressfit, nor internal headset routing... but it may sway the decision.

I don't know, I don't really use the internet much and I'd probably have to look something up... LOL

Not certain how those kits work, two wheel axle spacers and then something to shift out the cassette and the rotor I guess?

Just seems easier for Pivot to drop SB.

It was cool when everyone wanted fat tires and short chainstays…

And by cool, I mean made sense. I suppose it still has some advantages, but I cant stand all the mtb standards.

That said, my first fs bike was a v2 Switchblade. Its living out its retirement hanging on a wall 😮‍💨

Nevertheless, it is so and some of the more refined characters out there on the hill, prefer a more shapely and elegant downtube, an aesthetic improvement many would say. I'd love to put Rob of 'Rob Rides' fame on a bike with a blindfold, and as he races downhill, let him speak of his headtube degrees and BB heights, and ask what bike it is he thinks he rides on?

I dont think in general, folks are saying downtube shape matters more than geometry or ride feel.

But looks still matter to a lot of people. If a bike rides well and also manages to avoid looking like a big fridge underneath you, I’d call that a win, not poser behaviour.

And no, Im not claiming I could ride blindfolded and identify a bike by the downtube. The point is just that design is part of the package, same as geo, suspension and spec. Good bikes can do both.

As an example, 2 160mm travel trail / all mountain bikes.

I absolutely care about looks... apparently so do most e-mtbr's, which is why the AF was such a hit and is probably the most anticipated new e-mtb drop, ever. I wouldn't ride some of those fugly suns a bitches out there if you gave one to me.

Come on April 9th!!!!
 
I used to care about looks a LOT when it was really frowned upon to be on an e-bike, basically I wanted to pretend I was on a bike.

Now, it's not much of a thing and so I care much less.
 
So a shop not too far from me has the silver AF on sale in my size for $5,995.00, this model of course has mechanical shifting, which I am fine with, but I like gripshit over the Sram triggers. Can somebody tell me if the motor/battery has to come out to run new shift cables thru this beast? Or are there cable ports that shirt around those items?

Though many of those kits require re-dishing the wheel too, making it something you can't swap back to a regular Boost bike.

Again, nope! The mud clearance on the frames I have are huge, even with a 2.4" tyre out back. Have touched the dish, and it works perfectly across boost and SB bikes 👍🏻

Can you link to the kit? Most I've seen have a single spacer and require re-dishing.

I pulled a kit together myself with these bits:
6mm + 3mm 6-bolt spacers (Ali-E)
15mm high tensile rotor bolts (online bolt store)
12mm ID 9mm axle spacer
Job done, for about £15 per wheel.
No re-dishing needed, unless you have a rear triangle with tight tyre clearance.
 
you can have the best looking bike. I can*t say for avinox bikes, but service at specialized and for my yeti is top notch. Is there a problem? I go to a specialized shop that is plus partner and they do all is needed to get the bike running. my freind even got a new bike to ride in the time when his was in service. afterwards he was allowed to keep it for some more months. he used it as winterbike.

You can have the best motor and and best bike, but without the service, it is not that appricating anymore. If you get a problem, then you want to get a fast solution. Specialized for it, does it right. i was cvery happy with the service.

100%. Totally in agreement. Same sentiment for Bosch motors, which are serviceable almost worldwide.

...agree with this line of thinking, in fact I bet just about everyone does, who wouldn't? In all the research and reviews I've seen or watched, I didn't see a single person have an issue with these things (outside of the rattling which appears to have been addressed a long time ago), but yeah, that does concern me.

lets just wait. i wouldN+t jump first day on that bike and buy it. but maybe a month later when revies are all out and all the non youterbs have tested the motor. me interested in range and elevation i can get in one battery (on ym bosch it is 1400 meters of hight) and the noise.

..yeah i thought of waiting a bit just for that reason, but I also have a buddy in Montana who's had nothing but issues with his big brand e-bike (who's brand name I won't mention here but plenty of others have in this thread) and its been in the shop 3 times and they can't figure it out and the manufacturer isn't being real great about it as he is now asking for new motor and battery for lack of knowing what else to do and they are balking....so we'll see how that works out. Just saying there is no guarantee with these things.

Um, OK. But your rear wheel is a few mm off center, isn't it? That's going to change handling dynamics.

If you can notice a wheel which is ~3 milimetres off centre, then fair play to you! Said without sarcasm!
I for one, genuinely cannot. Not one bit. Let's remember how tiny 3 milimetres of difference is. These aren't Formula one car after all.

April 9th is coming for your M1 Kamerad.

I'm pleased with my CXR and Kiox display with the 600wh battery along with the Wild's silhoutte. But I do hope that Bosch offers a drop in larger/ lighter battery. Must admit that I've been surprised at the rate that I can go through some battery. It's not critical, but I don't have the leeway that I thought I'd have.

the guy i rode with last time in finale got about the same range with the wild than me on the kenevo sl + RE.

if there is more power available you probably spend it. he was up the hill faster.

Cars, guns, bikes, engines... there are so many great performers that look spectacular, that it makes no sense to ride one of those abortions discussed earlier in this thread. Life is too short to ride an ugly bike.
