I think I'd end up with a backpack full of rock, but I have always wanted to check out the barrowsNot bad. Lots of tracks that aren't too bumpy. Wish I had some sort of map device on my bars, though. Keep having to stop to get my phone out
Are you a geology fan or are you talking about the sugary treat with a name running through it? If the latter, I didn't see many shops en route.I think I'd end up with a backpack full of rock, but I have always wanted to check out the barrows
geology yes. neolithic anything ho yus!Are you a geology fan or are you talking about the sugary treat with a name running through it? If the latter, I didn't see many shops en route.
Total ride was 36 miles (km nerds can work that out for themselves!). Battery percentage used: 73 (99 > 26). Was barely a single flat bit, was going uphill or downhill the whole ride.
That is way too spookyAll going well till about 4 miles from the finish at Sedbergh then motor squealed it last squeal.
Spooky for sure , a group of 4 we kept catching each other up and passing all day had a crack with them a few times. Only one of them had a Ebike and just before Borrowdale the other three caught me up and said Carl's motor had packed in. Yes I could imagine that getting very wet. That is way too spooky.
At around about the same distance on the same trail and within 100 yds of each other thats where both myself and then @TheEMF 's first motors packed in and had to be replaced..mind you the weather was the complete opposite of what you encountered with the trails looking more like streams than pristine singletrack ...but still an electric motors graveyard ..??
Pure coincidence Im sure ..or is it ???
Wooohoohahaha....![]()
Lonesome Rider!Bowderdale classic loop today fair climb. All going well till about 4 miles from the finish at Sedbergh then motor squealed it last squeal. Could have been in a lot worse place .Im beginning to thinkwhat if and would I really be able to hump a broken bike up and down rough terrain for six miles back to a road. I don't think so.

the missus gave herself the worst pedal bite I've ever seen yesterday - had to get em closed up in A&E
Yes I seen what looked like a Honda motor bike fairing in middle of theSpooky I’m sure. It must be the Sedbergh triangle…….as @TheHodge mentioned our motors failed within almost identical times and places. It was a hard 5+miles pedaling a sick Ebike in wet, heavy conditions. If I recall Neil had seat post and derailleur issues as well.
I love EMTBing me![]()
Thanks! I'll forward the healing vibesDamn... I'm sitting here with a cringing squint on my face. Poor woman, hope it doesn't put her off. Happy healing vibes![]()

yeah I think I'll be riding solo for a week or two...
to add insult to injury, she spent 3 hours in A&E with her mum, who has Alzheimer's and zero social filters when it comes to saying the most inappropriate things - double cringe
it definitely breaks the waiting room tedium. funny interspersed with extreme embarrasment...Dont know if thats funny or not, could have been interesting though. My missus had a big crash in 2019 and has never sat her ass on a saddle again, hope the injury doesn't set her back too much.
Nasty one that I will settle for the blown motor I got yesterday.the missus gave herself the worst pedal bite I've ever seen yesterday - had to get em closed up in A&E

I'll run that suggestion by heraaaarrrgghhh!!! that looks awful! Sympathy!
It's a bit late for her now, but having had one pedal strike (nothing like as bad) early on in my flat pedal history, I took steps.
I removed the leading pin on each pedal, both sides. That is the one that tends to strike the shin bone or the Achilles tendon. A pedal strike still hurts and draws blood but the damage never seems quite so bad.![]()
It pains me even more when your best friend becomes injuredlooks like she isn't too deterred!
she's at home seeing if one of my old elbow guards will protect her, so she can go out this weekend

indeed! she had Plastic pins for years, then went to metal - I shall offer her the plastic option again! It pains me even more when your best friend becomes injured. I installed good plastic peddles with plastic pins on her bike in the hope that her beautiful legs can be protected. Kinda helps.
Each one of my pacs has a small first aid kit (3). I’ve used it several times on myself and others. It’s just the nature of this hobby.…it’s a good idea to be prepared.

I keep some spare items in the cave as items become used, wet or expired.
