I walked up them unbelievable friction and what an angle.Aye, that's definitely on the bucket list.
Takes the skin of the fingers and ruins the uppers on boots .Gabbro, the rock up on Skye, best climbing rock there is. As you say has amazing friction.
I so want some of that trail...nice!
Again a new fork, now upside down!
Steve,@Rod B. That second picture is 5 miles later and his cool weather gear is now all in Grandad's backpack, and Logan is no longer sure that sweaty mtb is for him!
PS: On those gravel tracks, you should consider getting him some gloves. Palm grazes are the worst!![]()
Levity, the trail pictures were taken last September. The trail (Not the meadow) we were on is called 'Horse Creek Loop' and can be found on Trailforks for the Bridgeport area. We cobbed together a loop around both lakes via some singletrack and jeep trails. The whole area is a virtual desert when it comes to mountain biking trails. The lands which surround the Twin Lakes area are either private property or National Forest 'Wilderness' designated land area. Mountain biking is not allowed and I'm positive the rangers would shoot you dead on sight if they caught you riding in a wilderness designated area. There are only a few trails that are outside the National Forest boundary markers. I'm not all together confident that riding on Horse Creek Loop is allowed. I didn't see a sign saying 'No Bikes.' We camp at Twin Lakes every year. Typically, I'll make the 55 mile drive into Mammoth and go ride the bike park or do Lower Rock Creek when we camp.

My grandson has had type 1 diabetes since he was 8 years old, so I have learned all about blood sugar and its impact upon energy levels. I have found some wrapped energy bars ("biscuits") that have been doing a good job for ten years now (for me and my riding buddy as well). They are flapjacks with a chocolate topping. The choc gives a fast energy boost and the rest provides a slower release energy. He has a blood sugar level monitor on his arm that gives him warnings to take action "another biscuit please!" But he is now 18 years old and although he still wears the monitor for 24-hour tracking and recording, he is in tune with his body now and he knows when he needs another biscuit.Steve,
Great observation, I'll be sure to get him a pair of gloves. Logan was having a hard time about 1/4 mile into the ride. We were at the ride's halfway mark and he wanted to go back. I explained how the 'Point of no return' works. That was when I took the 'Stink Eye' picture. I laughed and told him grandpa has been there and done that. Bonking sucks. .................C

How are you getting on with the Pivot? Which one did you get?The plan was for an easy ride up the mountain. Ranger McFűçķŵíț and his stupid directions blew that plan out of the water, so we pivoted to another trail. I thought it was going to be easy. Nah, it wasn't that. It turned into a black diamond level trail with serious exposure. It didn't appear as if many hikers ever make it up to the top, and maybe no mountain bikers for many months.
