What wheel was it? and how?

Was the stock 29er carbon
was running tubes as hadn’t make it tubeless yet and dropped the pressure a bit as was far too hard. From 40 down to 25 (still higher than I run) tubeless
and guess a hit a rock as heard a massive crack sound
small crack but it’s in shop for warranty

Sucks, but at least its under warranty.

Could be a good thread that^^^ The shortest time between new bike day & disaster. Mine was a brand new Lapierre 527 & less than half a mile before getting a puncture and obvs no spare kit with me.

Also had a puntcture as well due to the cracked wheel but weirdly didn’t go flat for about 20 mins
only had a 27.5 spare with me which was a mission in itself trying to swap 😂😂😂

Yep close up of crack not huge but right thru the lip

Ooh, that IS ugly.

Was thinking about buying DT Swiss HXC 1501 or Bontrager Line Pro 30 wheels but that^^^ is exactly why have held off. Will stick with my heavy but very strong alloy 32 spoke wheels, so thank you for posting the pic. Hope you get it quickly sorted.

If it is an almost indestructible rim you want, then try the ones by Santa Cruz, the Reseve Carbon wheels.
Here is Danny Mac testing them to destruction.

If you live in the northern hemisphere, it probably sucks where you live. Just South Of The Grand Canyon!! 1-31-2026

'tis only 33 degC. I have ridden in long trousers in 37degC in the UK. But that was in the forest, so I was in the shade.
But then I had to go rescue a young lad who had got himself and his motorbike stuck in a large mud wallow. That was out in the open and it was brutal. :(

I think anything above 37*C would be the same as riding in hell. I was a sun worshiper before …but not anymore. I like the strobing light through the trees. 🌲. No speedo swimsuit here. 😉

My Levo is in the shop getting the suspension serviced so I booked a short demo on a Orbea Wild. Really like the frame; both geo and kinematics. Felt the size M was really stable in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve chunk. Climbed much better than I expected from a 170/170 bike. Less enthralled with the Bosh motor though. I didn’t adjust anything other than running Turbo, but I like my Specialized motor much more. The Shimano drivetrain surprised me how good it was. XT brakes less so.
