Appreciate a bit of local history as I get older , no matter where I am at .20 mile bimble across Kingley Vale, unlike last year's quagmires everywhere has dried out. Pic is looking towards The Trundle in the distance.

How did they manage to keep a straight face
When I go away with a walking club im in for the weekend its usually to a hut. If Fiona is there she likes to have a good fiddle . I'm off in a fortnight to one and she will be there , but I'm taking a tent and putting the earplugs in.It's not just the Canucks, Jocks, Paddies, the Germans can make you squirm too... And they record them so you can play them back at home!
I suppose after the first drink, things don't sound so bad!![]()

A fantastic ride of two halves yesterday with @The EMF ( Wayne) starting at Edmundbyers, Lead Mining Trail ..or as its more commonly known the " Bolts Law Route" .
The reason for the "two halves" is that both Wayne & myself are firm believers at missing out tarmac sections wherever possible and done as a full circular route this has a good 5.5km of road climb from Baybridge ..so on a( " summers " 14c high) day like yesterday where wet clothing isn't an issue ..a there & back to the top of Bolts Law and beyond to the Rookhope road ..then a short car journey to do the loop from Blachland / Slaley Forest / Carriers Way is a much preferred option.
Although mainly dry there was still a fair amount of slop to contend with particularly on the first half of the route..which made traction interesting both ways ..
I've a mixture of pics from both Wayne & myself ..View attachment 156473View attachment 156474
