Pic of the Day

Very windy today the seagulls were flying backwards. Was nearly blown off a few times so about turned. Life boat out for Sunday practice bouncy bouncy, back in when i came past harbour . Other boat Esvagd Alba a Danish boat sheltering from weather ,it's a walk to work boat for people who work on the wind turbines . Last ride for old shimano boots served me well they have , replacements look horrible but are actually quite waterproof. The noise of the yacht rigging is unbelievable only 50 yards from houses do well to sleep through that. Went over bars did a perfect roll only derailleur shifter on bar damaged hopefully threads are OK.

Thanks but I'm still imagining you on the Trek facing backwards scratching your head looking for the handlebars
I thought of installing both cranks at the 6’iclock position on my buddy’s bike. 👍🏻
I’d definitely outperform him on climbs then.

I have the AXS Reverb dropper so I could easily turn the seat around. 😜

I got a bike back from a custom frame maker with pedals in that position never noticed till I got home , or were they both in 12 o'clock position 🤔 haha.

Hey …not so fast. I could design a 4 peddle crank that could solve the problem of finding your footing …unless it’s already available 🤨. I should Google that.

I must say that 🐢 at nine o clock on the first two pics has been very patient while you set about clearing the trail ..top marks 😉
Thanks 😉.
A few years ago I had a personal relationship with that big-rock-turtle at the nine o’clock position. At that time it was hidden under some ferns.

I was approaching a group of hikers from behind and decided to avoid them by riding cross-country …easy right?

Until I hit that hidden rock (it’s since moved) with my wheel and began an OTB’s with a mid-air superman flip onto my back. I laid there for a moment, while the audience of 16 hikers gasped, screamed and probably looked away.

So…Mr Nice Guy (me), dusted himself off, checked out the bike, continued my ride. I’m sure someone in the group got a pic of me displaying my anti-gravity skills. 😉

The rock-turtle is still alive …but very very slow.

The Tortoise song by the Corries or was it Stihldog ?

I added a marine horn alongside the bear bells and apart from being deaf for an hour after blasting - View attachment 154569it has moved the lingering black bear along, its the grizzly bears that are pretty unpredictable in my experience - but I would still rather deal with bears than the creepy crawlies of our southern destinations . . .
I wouldn't mind that for trail walkers to be honest can't hear u with their earbuds in , then give you a bad ass stare when you scare them.

Ah man …I’m getting kinda emotional after watching that video.
But it’s that one lazy a** volunteer trail worker who p*sses me off.

He doesn’t care where he takes a nap, takes long breaks, easily startled, acts like a troll 🧌 when working under a bridge, talks way too much …I’d rather be pushed off a trail by a jogger wearing a white sweat band or a pair of crazy squirrels.

It’s just sad…

Rode the Signal House and Waratah trail in the Royal National Park today.

But the old bike is killing me ..... Literally. Today, the motor hooked up badly when I dropped off a big tree root, hurtling me over the bars. Thankfully I'm a really good at controlling my falls, and I tucked and rolled, doing no damage other than creases in my helmet.

It's so hard going from a really capable EMTB to an older one with much less capability. I just keep forgetting the bikes limits.

Mother nature is clearing her throat. Corking day out there.
Bluebird day when set off this morning. And yeah, mother nature similarly cleared her throat all over my bike ;)

Pic is of the fallen trees finally removed from one of our fave routes (Monarch's Way) through woods on the right of the pic.
