Pic of the Day

Black Sheep bitter ?
Correct! And a cracking pint too.
It was like a Monty Python sketch..
3 pumps on the bar.
1st one (Taylor's Landlord) had run out.
"I'll try the 'Striding Ridings' please."
Good choice sir.
"Oh and a packet of crisps."
Sorry sir, we've run out of crisps..
"Peanuts then?"
Sorry sir, we've run out of peanuts too..
"Well thankfully, at least you've still got some beer!"
Sorry sir, this beer has just run out too!
"Fingers crossed for the Black Sheep then!"

Can i ask what mud guard that is? I likes a bit of carbon i does.
Hello!
The front mudguard is a Rockguardz carbon one that I was using on a previous bike (Yeti SB150) which had a Fox 36 fork. I tried it on the Rockshox and its a close fit but the stanchion supports are positioned just a little too far forward for a truly good fit, but I'm happy with that and it certainly stops mud splattering upwards.
The rear is a plastic one off Amazon and fails to really do anything other than looking pretty!
Hope this helps

Bunked off at lunch for a quick ten miler. Time is money & all that.

Put this bike together yesterday with my son for him to use from parts in the shed.

He didn't want a front fork, said he was still young.....didn't argue with him. He is a fly fisherman using the Tenkara method so simple is best for him and this will help him get to the streams and lakes with his pack raft. Nice and light without all the suspension!

Re-run of the Lastingham / Rosedale route ..?
That would be Ana Cross..?
The weather looks fantastic and hopefully holds for the ride we have planned in the Cheviot Hills ..
Yes, Ana Cross it is. 👍
A slight route alteration, dropping down to Dale Head farm for the cafe there, an excellent stopping place.

Great to be out in the Cheviot Hills today with one of my newest biking buddies ..and also one of my longest serving who because of accidents & ops has been missing in action for at least 2 years ..he has just joined the forum under the moniker of Cebeem ..and it was good to not only see him on a bike again ..but also to introduce him to The EMF ..
It soon became apparent that the planned ride would have to be shortened as Colin's bike ( although only 4 years old ) wouldn't have the range for us to raid over the Border into Scotland ( Colin's homeland ) ..this didn't in anyway detract from what was a brilliant ride in near perfect conditions although the predicted gentle 9mph breeze decided to stay at home and sent his big brother out instead...

The dark patches although looking like tussocks are in fact the wild Cheviot Goats

My apologies to The EMF for showing this next pic as it was all my fault ..
Being "Aquaman" his natural reaction was to head towards water but having passed close to the puddle it looked really boggy underneath so I shouted for him to go to his left and unfortunately this happened ..😂

Only one thing left to do ..a quick refreshment in The Rose & Thistle at Alwinton ..
Cheers boys 👍

Went on my first ever night ride last night & really enjoyed it, despite poo-pooing it in the past, I humbly take it all back. Stock piccy from a sundowner last year, as I forgot to take any photos & I regret to advise that leading a train through the woods, I did mow down a bunny rabbit with a deathwish. 🐇
