A sniper root took me out at Yearsley Woods on Saturday. Because I’m so protective of my messed up wrist, my instinct was to cross my arms and bring them close to my body as I fell, rather than land hands outstretched. My instinct worked, my hands & wrists were thoroughly protected as I face planted into the loam

Half way up the Legburner at Nant Yr Arian (6 miles east of Aberystwyth). 2.2 miles of (I reckon) an average 1 in 7. Grandson on his Orange Five RS, propping up my Merida e-One Sixty. He stopped for a breather now and then but never pushed.

Under the Miroir d'Argentine on the way to the Pas de Cheville a high col between the Vaud and Valais. Autumn is full swing although the weather will alter in the next days. It’s near Villars the ski station.
