Pic of the Day

Out in The Royal National Park, it was a day for wildlife.

Found this little Water Dragon sunning himself, but I couldn't get the picture off quick enough before he retreated back under his waterfall.

If I was going to name a bike it might be more like:
"Barry" (the Bike)
"Eric" (e-bike)
"Mike" (Merida)
Her name is is registered with "Births, Deaths and Marriages" <or the Avinox App> as Libby ....... Short for Liberace. The Liberace Museum in Las Vegas has felt her worthy of the branding ....... :ROFLMAO:

What other inanimate objects do you give names to? And why?
My car is called NickY. She is the most beautiful girl in the world ........ :ROFLMAO: She was named after my favourite insane inventor, Nikola Tesla .......

BTW ....... Most of the Apps these days require you to put in a name for the device. So I try to be a little creative about it.

Was it a toss of the coin not to call her Tess?..
Can't agree about the " beautiful " moniker though ..to me they are the most boring and bland looking cars on the planet 🤢

I'd have put "car" and never referred to it again; other than if I was going out, I might say that I was "off in the car".
If I had more than one car maybe the brand name "Audi" or "Honda" etc
I guess that either shows I have a limited imagination, or maybe I just feel no need to name stuff.

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not judging, just puzzled! I'm wondering about people's motivation to do stuff differently to me.

I was obligated to help name my children and was asked to stop calling my dog Dee-Oh-Gee. Naming things is hard. 🥹

George Forman (the boxer) named everyone George…brilliant😉

It just feels more personell when travelling, and you are thinking, I'll take NickY and Libby. I also take better care of them because they are just not "Car" and "Bike". They are NickY and Libby. We are all motivated by different things.

I come from a boating background. You definitely name your boats. This was the last boat I built. I bought the bare aluminium hull so I didn't need to get an engineering survey. But everything else was fitted by me.

This is what I started with.

While I don't rate Tarland that great in terms of tech or steeps, it's a good place to bed in a new bike and get multiple laps in quickly. Even in torrential rain

I was there on Sunday too. You probably whizzed past me on the climbs... at least 10 other ebike riders did as I was breathing out of my arse :D

It's actually what planted the ebike seed in my head... thinking I could get a few more runs in!

Currently doing my research into motors and batteries etc, and if I'd prefer full fat or SL... but those are topics for another thread.
