Pedalling backwards on the Decoy..............

Forgive the ignorance, but bike is 2 rides old ( first e-bike) and when pedalling backwards the chain will not go backwards / hub does not engage, just a silent spin of the crank...I take it this isn't normal, and if not, what is the problem?

That's generally "e-bike" normal.

If you want to turn it, you have to wedge an allen key or something in there against the crank so the crank forces the chain wheel round...

there is no problem, it's normal the crankset disengages from the chainring when you reverse pedal
