buying on a discount usually means losing less when you sell it at some point again, but 4 months waiting time for a current gen bike is harshIt's coming.
Announced in April, production by 3rd quarter.
Knowing this I told my dealer to go ahead and invoice me for the current Orbea Wild with a Bosch just about an hour ago which I won't even get for nearly 4 months! Sheesh.
Of course I don't know the details of the new M2, but for my needs I prefer the Bosch plus the discount I can get on the current model Orbea.
I guess I'd be a bit sad if the M2 was this huge upgrade, but at some you just have to do something right?

May I ask which model you bought? what shit parts? Tks.Yah, you'll see the Wild Avinox (M2?) around July (to buy). Sadly the Avinox will already be shown by the time my Bosch arrives so it'll already be the 'old' model.
Even knowing that, I just ordered a Bosch Wild. I'm sure both are great but I think the CXR has an advantage in a few aspects and I just have no use for any more power where I live and when I travel to the mountains, any Avinox Bros can just wait 30 seconds at the top for me. Smoothness, silence, reliability, serviceability, bash protection & (possibly) efficiency all took precendence over power I'd very rarely use. Will the M2 change my opinion? I don't know.
The deal was solid as well, less than $7K to my door with a CXR (shit parts though, but I don't care).
Hi, I don't work for Orbea, but I have the same doubts about the Wild and Avinox that you had.Do you work for Orbea by chance?
I ordered the M20 mullet and paid the extra to get the CXR motor, Kiox Display & saved money going down to the 600w battery. I don't care about the other parts and I'll use them all to rebuild my Relay to sell it off. As far as sh*t parts, no one has anything good to say about the Shimano drivetrain on an e-bike application. The option for a hardwired Transmission X01 would have been an upgrade that I would have made. I don't use trail tires, Al wheels, Al bars, cheaper suspension components, etc. I'm not above it; I just don't have to any longer!
I just wanted the cheapest CF frame with a Bosch CRX, 600wh battery, great geo, great dropper insertion, etc. The Wild is consistently a best-in-class bike but I wonder if the headset cable routing might have hurt sales along with the Avinox stealing some thunder as well.
I have front and rear Avalanche coil suspension that will be installed, Dominion brakes, Oneup dropper, my own bars/ grips/ seat, brand new Crankbrothers cf MX DH wheels with DH tires installed and out of cheapness I'm just going to install a nearly new SRAM X01 11 speed that I have on the shelf.
It would be nice if it comes in under 50#s but with those tires/ wheels/ coil suspension that's going to be a stretch. I mean I already installed tires on the wheels, and they were like 1450 grams each!
Honestly, I'm just thrilled to have completed the tedious task of trying to choose a new e-bike. The more I learn about bikes, the harder it becomes! I find that most bike designers seem to have become quite boring and unimaginative in their approaches. In the case of Orbea, the product is real good which is why I choose it. But you should be able to select a frame, select its material, color, motor, all from a drop-down menu and see the price for each item. You should be able to select to buy just that frameset alone or continue to add components with prices all listed. Choose your shock, your fork, your wheels, etc... Manufacturers say they can't make money selling a frame only, then Crestline sells out 300 in a day at $7.3K USA each. I'd say in fact you could make money selling frame only options if you offered the right product.
Of course, I wanted to wait and see the new Avinox M2, I wanted to see the new E-Dreadnaught, etc. But at some point, you just have to go all in as this waiting game can go on forever.
Have an option to mullet it!A New sub 20 kg CF Rise LT with a slightly de-tuned Avinox motor, a 600 Wh battery, a ready to order range extender, and no headset routing would sell by the bucket load I reckon
Hi, I don't work for Orbea, but I have the same doubts about the Wild and Avinox that you had.
That's why I'm asking which model you bought so I can find out about the bad components...
If I were to decide, I'd go for the Team, which, except for the wheels (which I'd change later), has all the components that are good.
Cheers
The higher power of the Avinox motor is not important to me either. What matters to me is having a larger, newer battery (if that is actually the case). The Bosch Gen5 motor is great in my opinion, but the 800 Wh battery and the design are completely off for me.I imagine it'll instantly look sleeker and more modern, just like all the other Avinox motored bikes do.
But the extra power of the Avinox doesn't matter to me. Reliability, serviceability, noise, parts in the future, etc. matters more. I did also get a good deal that I likely would not have received on the Avinox ones as right now if your dealer orders any stock Bosch build, they are getting a substantial discount.
Rumor on the street is there may be a 180mm frame option. It's coming.

It's seems to be a rallon sister with 180/170 travel and possibility to set two mapsRumor on the street is there may be a 180mm frame option.
For most riders I think 170/170 is a great all-round option. The more I ride my 2026 Wild with Bosch Gen5 Race motor, the more I love it.Of course I'd like to see all of the options before pulling the trigger, but the fact is that I waited 6+ months to finally get an e-bike (first choice fell through) and at some point you just have to pull the trigger. As the tech will always be changing.
I don't think that new battery tech will be here yet, but I think the new Orbea with the Avinov will offer the current 800wh battery and it'll remain at least as sleek as the current model.
I intentionally only wanted the 600wh battery so the current Wild suited me well but if I had needed an 800wh battery I would have bough the Yeti Lte or possibly the Range VLT.
Pretty cool on the increased travel, but for my terrain I'm totally content with 170/ 170.
I have heard the same..Rumor on the street is there may be a 180mm frame option.
