I know that Bosch have literally just released the new 120nm but for the future what do you guys think. Will we get another power update this year or next or will they wait for the gen6 was just curious?

Brada you guys are craving more power. The best power update already came out on April 9th 😉. Come to the dark side.

I’d hope Bosch is just working on a new motor/battery package and not just little updates here and there in power.

Bosch could make more power with the Gen5s, which has a lot of forward capability, but they are following regulations and keeping their motor system Class 1.
You will simply see additional features added for several more years. They will add SRAM Auto shifting, they have a fast charger on the way, in time when battery cell technology improves they will offer updated batteries, they will likely utilize one of their power ports to run an electric dropper post, and software will continue to improve.
It's also quiet, reliable, efficient, has chain ring protection, and is widely supported.
If you believe that your e-bike should remain legal on our trail systems, what else could you want?

They made a point they won't increase beyond 750W... it sounded like this update was in response to market and was more like a "okay fine, here's more, but this is it".

Time will tell with market and regulation. Not much more they can offer if there not willing to up the power. The 120 Nm torque update isn't even continuous like the 100 Nm was prior. Assist is raised to 600%. The more torque and assist you'll just hit the 750W power limit quicker.

Good to wonder, but I think they’ll play it conservative to maintain reliability which is good. The latest update and future ones like the new charger are super positive. The next best thing would higher capacity batteries with same form factor as originals as well as same engine mounts as the 5 for a 6 series when it is released.

in what ways do you find the current motor/software lacking?

Never said I found it lacking, just wanted to gauge other people’s thoughts as someone on another forum said Bosch was going to 150nm in August

for relevance sake, All DJI owners i've come across Dont use the high powerd modes/settings, the odd one will flick it up to show off.
I personally dont like flying up climbs so the wattage isnt that important to me, many 85/90nm motors at 600watts is quick enough for me to get some fast laps in if i need to.
Owned a M1 v1 amflow and Turned it down a little, not sure i ever even got close to the 1000w - after 3 frame failures I gave up and bought a Rail, sure its heavier but its stiff , an absolute hoot and after 2 weeks i didnt even notice the weight.

Since then i've loved the Rail, The bosch system seems more effecient for my heavier weight (100kg ish).
theres no place for me here to even use that kind of power(1500w)

in the end, im more of a fan of assistance % and sensible torque, over Wattage/speed.

I'd just like to see a lighter system and working on effeciency

I personally use Auto set to 85Nm @ 850W on my Amflow. Honestly if I was a Bosch owner, the now second power update is great but it was there all along while you put miles on your bike and not available to you until now?

Oh... that other forum. Delete your account. They're all stuck in perpetual Limp Mode. All the talented, good looking riders are here.

I completely agree, they should fucus on “power assistance”, not power per se .
Light motors, light batteries~300-400wh, 35km/h speed cut-off… pleaaaase🙏

MO'POWA?

A simple example of a CX4, 85Nm, eMTB+

No need for big power, just have fun!
