If it's just gonna be a light build Levo 4 and a long travel Levo 4 it will be very disappointing. Only other thing I can think of that could win more customers is a new front triangle with a smaller battery form factor and keep same drive unit.2 Products based on the current....
one with a R in it and another with a K in it.

Local Store told me same.
Same Gen 4 Body, smaller Batt still removes, different shocks, very tiny increases in power and torque, not going to be cheap.
Not sure of intended market

I noticed the used emtb site Upway is flooded with leftover Specialized SL'si doubt spesh will step on the toes there gen4 release to much. despite what people say they wont drop a product thats been out a year. i reckon the new project will be tied to the sl brand somehow
Interesting a solid 78% of 2024 bikes available.I noticed the used emtb site Upway is flooded with leftover Specialized SL's
Spesh's own motor approach worked until it didn't. Tons of corporate inertia over there... hard to match the design agility of smaller brands allied with motor tech giants (DJI, Bosch).2 Products based on the current....

Don’t think they going to sell them till they release the light version Gen 4 and long travelI'll make my purchase decision by mid-February, if Spesh' reveals a new SL3 I might be more patient LOL.
Anyone knows when they'll have the Levo 4 600wh batteries for sale? Right now on the US website they're only showing the $1,600 800w ones.
Not that I expect it to happen, but lower prices would win a lot more customers than a slimmer downtube. If it's just gonna be a light build Levo 4 and a long travel Levo 4 it will be very disappointing. Only other thing I can think of that could win more customers is a new front triangle with a smaller battery form factor and keep same drive unit.
Power sells.I noticed the used emtb site Upway is flooded with leftover Specialized SL's
I wonder, is this because the levo 4 isnt selling as anticipated? Ppl want a lighter bike, so Specialized threw this together to moves the frames? Its dropping with the power increase as well…Don’t think they going to sell them till they release the light version Gen 4 and long travel
Gen 4 with lighter forks 600w battery etc etc to get it at 20 kgs
Probably then they’ll start selling them the above bike probably release end Feb
People hung up on the stock chainstay number so they change it imeadiatly and then wonder why the front feels heavy and is pushing. Lenghening the stays, lowers the BB significantly and steepens the head angle. Sure those guys better riders and i havent tried all the bikes, but not testing it in the stock setting is a mistake imo and led to the bad review.Spesh's own motor approach worked until it didn't. Tons of corporate inertia over there... hard to match the design agility of smaller brands allied with motor tech giants (DJI, Bosch).
Their motor wasn't even what held them back in the PB field test, it was stubborn old geo. Classic Spesh... front wheel wants to push in corners cause the rear center is too short to keep up with the reach in their larger sizes.
PB showed up with two tall dudes and tested an S5 (XL) and it revealed what I've been dealing with for years... the front loses traction in corners because stubborn geo.
If memory serves based on PB's visit to their short lived offsite MTB dev facility in Auburn, they actually have taller guys at the top of their management hierarchy designing/testing their bikes but apparently those individuals like to size down to an L / S4 because they like the smaller bikes feel.
So instead of putting a longer rear on the bike that fits them they choose a shorter reach so they can keep the chainstays short. And those guys are DESIGNING the bikes.
I know of another bike that has a 600w battery that is about to come out, that has a really well thought out removable design. And if the price is correct that has been indicated it should be around 50% lessThis is probably why no one can buy the 600wh battery yet. Saving it for the levo chunky boy sl
The SL has always been a hard sell. Tech guy at local store said never understood as to why it was bought out.I noticed the used emtb site Upway is flooded with leftover Specialized SL's
I had an SL for a week when it came out, thought the bike it self was great. But it was just crying out for the bigger motor. If they had done that it would have cleaned up, with that light agile frame.I noticed the used emtb site Upway is flooded with leftover Specialized SL's
its a slow seller here in UK.I wonder, is this because the levo 4 isnt selling as anticipated? Ppl want a lighter bike, so Specialized threw this together to moves the frames? Its dropping with the power increase as well…![]()
111nm and 850w is a nice bump though. If it's just gonna be a light build Levo 4 and a long travel Levo 4 it will be very disappointing. Only other thing I can think of that could win more customers is a new front triangle with a smaller battery form factor and keep same drive unit.

Speculation? Or have you heard info indicating this?Enduro EMTB named Enduro - replaces Kenevo and Kenevo SL
You and I are marketing geniuses I guessI have thought for a while that Specialized might repurpose their Enduro namesake for an emtb product.
I heard S-Works owners were also going to be given the option to backdate their subscription to purchase date, giving them retrospective access to the additional motor power.I heard specialized newest drop will be a monthly paid subscription to access higher tiers of motor power
With a 600wh most people are going to need to buy a extra battery![]()
They told me the new bike with the new shocks and 600w battery, will use the existing Gen 4 frame with the large downtube.SL will remain a separate bike .... the new one will be close to that

Or just buy the standard Levo or the range extender? This rumored bike is most likely just an additional model of the current Levo with a weight conscious spec, the other models will with 840wh will still be available. With a 600wh most people are going to need to buy a extra battery![]()
Tbh, typical of them. With that size Downtube they should be going for a much bigger batt not smaller . I spose they are trying to do something about the weight.Yeah it’s litterally same bike just diff set up.
