Hi!

Today I have just picked up my new orbea 2026 M-TEAM. Very nice and powerful ebike. However I cannot activate the eshift function.

There is a "components" section on the settings of the kiox 400c device that shows eshift as available, and the current gear used is shown on the display, but I don't know how to activate the auto shifting mode.

Any idea? thanks!

Bosch says that it will be available autumn 2025 :)

Meanwhile, a Pic of my new ebike

It is not perfect (I am very very picky) but if it is good enough for me, it is good enough for everyone :D

And I am telling this after returning a new Turbo Levo Gen4 Comp because of paint defects and choosing the Orbea Wild instead :D

P.D: I appreciate that they now include some protector vinyls preinstalled (not perfectly installed), but I have added lot more. I like to protect my bikes!

Glad to hear that such a nice bike.
Maybe next year i just might spend some money on one

The update has been released today. Rollshift and AutoShift works perfectly now, very funny :D

Yes! Just after the update, you can configure everything, mode, cadence, ...

you must keep pressed the center button on the remote (the one you use to select the assist level), then cycle until you find the cadence setting.
If it does not appear, you need to update the derailleur software using the etube app from shimano as well.

I'm not able to do that.
I can switch between automatic, manual, and M+ modes.
In the app, I can't access that setting at all...
I would like to ask you one thing about the battery. My Wild 2026 when it reaches 100% while charging, it keeps charging for more than 30 minutes before auto switching off... have you noticed the same? Thanks.

It will be doing some cell balancing in the battery pack, trying to ensure that all the cells are at the same voltage.

Normal behaviour. 👍

Yes, it is only that it takes too long to balance. I am an owner of several electric vehicles with much bigger batteries and it nevers take so long :D Thanks.

Ah cool, EV’er here as well, I think some of the EV BMS balance at less than 100% now as well, especially as many of them have more capacity than is accessible by the user. 👍

Wait...Bosch Gen 5 has Autoshift in conjunction with a hardwired Transmission drivetrain?! Can you clarify as my understanding is that it was coming out in time with the TRP drivetrain only. I presume because SRAM builds an electric motor and so that's a competitor.

Also, what is 'Rollshift'?

I have a Gen5 CX-R bike with a hardwired Transmission on order so now I'm really curious.

Thanks

Yes, there is a compatibility chart here:

I have a hardwired shimano xt m8260 working perfectly:
rollshift: Change without pedaling
autoshift: automatic change based on cadence
M+: automatic change only when coasting.

However, the usage is very limited, not working properly on the mountain, changing too late :D

I wonder if I should change my drivetrain over to the Shimano as it looks like Bosch has no intention of integrating with SRAM?

Well I must say that after trying the autoshift feature, I have completely deactivated it xD
The only feature more or less useful is the rollshift, but it activates itself even when pedaling, so the battery life is reduced.

Autoshift is designed for cargo bikes and commuters. It's not something useful for mountain biking.

Right. Might be going mad - but how do you activate rollshift? i have a 2026 gen 5 Bosch Orbea wild with Shimano m8260.
have both apps and all SW up to date. I can see the derailleur in the Bosch app and it says e-shift but no way to change any modes in that app. In the Shimano app I can see the derailleur and shifter, I can alter the function of the shifter buttons and how many times it shifts. But nothing about eshift, auto shift or roll shift anywhere.
I feel like this should be easy but there is nothing in the settings of either app!

Hi! Once you have all updated the rollshift is always on, you cannot deactivate it. Have you tried it?

The auto shift, manual+ and manual modes can be selected using the bottom button on the shifter (the horizontal button)

The cadence you want can be selected on the kiox 400c, by long pressing the middle button on the bosch remote
