I’ve never been particularly interested in assisted road or gravel bikes but after seeing the Velduro Phantom with the flat bars, the new Megamo Along spiked my interest.

Flat bars and the new Avimox M2 motor would make for a perfect commuter for me. The price is pretty much cycle to work friendly too. I reckon this would make light work of a 32 mile each way commute with 1000ft climbing.

I really like it, too, apart from the choice of colours. Not feeling that multicoloured one and the alternative is a boring off white. 🫤

As a gravel-dabbler I do like it, but not sure I'd want one for the UK. It's bad enough bouncing off the 15.5mph limit when riding an eMTB on the roads or flat(ish) offroad surfaces, so I imagine it would be much worse on a gravel bike where it's easier to get up and maintain speed. Having said that, at least it's easy to work around the speed limit on an Avinox bike.

I'm very likely to get one to replace my broken Fazua gravel bike that I used for commuting. Just waiting on Megamo to get back to my local bike shop with some answers as I couldn't find any direct form of contact on their website.

Never really noticed when I went over the limit on the Fazua, probably less noticeable than on an EMTB due to the overall lower weight of the bike?

The extra power so I don't slow down so much on the uphill with a queue of vehicles behind me is appealing. Same with the 600wh battery for longer trips compared to the 250wh Fazua batteries.

I agree regarding the colours, the plain black or white frames for the e-road Megamo Upon look nicer. I'll probably go for the sand version Along.

According to the guy I spoke to today in a bike shop, the new M2 motors have very little resistance once the limit is reached so they still pedal quite well above the limiter.

Good info, not seen much in the way of feedback on M2 motors. Leaning towards getting the Along 10 and then upgrading from GRX to a mullet AXS drivetrain (Force + GX T-type) rather than the Along 03 with M2S, the 12A charger and Rival XPLR.

Rarely see much mention of pedal feeling above the 15.5mph limit on this forum!

There's always talk of it. But the problem is that with a 25kg bike when you hit the limit it suddenly feels slike the motor is holding you back.

It's not.

All the motors have minimal resistance (well maybe the Bosch gen 2)

Would be really interesting to try one of these and do a lot of mixed surfaces.

Would be interesting to see how the range works out with a lighter bike and less resistant tyres in real world scenarios compared to an EMTB.
