Looking like a drop tomorrow? Rumors are saying Long/Med/Short Travel versions, Bosch with 600wh battery only and more traditional look vs the outgoing OSO. Curious what the travel levels will be

The looks of the original were polarizing, but I loved it and ordered mine right after the launch in October 2022. That first $3K price drop stung in 2023, as did the second one in 2025, but other than that, it's been a great bike and Ibis has been super supportive over the last four years of ownership.

Currently, I am in the market for a replacement EMTB. I am not surprised that Ibis was more conservative this second time around, but this is pretty underwhelming. So conservative, small battery, saggy belly, etc...

Moving on...

This drop has been really underwhelming, seems odd that no one seems to have had hands on to do a proper review to coincide with the release. Kinda signals to me that it’s not that great of a bike. Also as good as bosch is you really can’t get around the form factor being substantially better with avinox. With all the newly released avinox bikes a few days ago and no hands on reviews it makes this feel dead in the water. Just look around the forums and insta comments, very low engagement.

Hate to see the poor response to this. Ibis makes great bikes too. Poor decision on the release date. Probably should have let the Avinox hype die a little. I was YouTubing for reviews and not finding anything, not even Jeff Kendall that is always riding ibis bikes.

I like the idea of the S build. Not much available on the market with this specs.

And common, don’t let the Avinox marketing fool you - CX5 ist still a great product. Not everybody wants to support Chinese industry for several reasons.

I was looking at it yesterday, and I do really like the TR build. However, for $8300, you're not getting a lot for the money. I was comparing it to the Pivot AMP'd, and although the AMP'd is $1200 more, it has better suspension, electronic shifting and the Avinox vs Bosch motor.

The other thing is that it looks like Ibis downgraded a lot of the spec compared to the Oso 1.1, and jacked the price up by $2300.

One of the things I like about the Avinox is how it's integrated with your shifting (smooth shift). I'm not sure if the Pivot has that or not, though.

All the Amp’d builds are hardwired to main battery to get all the features

It's a good idea to release a new frame for Bosch(it) ectosystem.

Banana geo is still available for a proper assistance system (avinox, mahle, maxxon ...)

edit : proper assistance >>> masterclass assistance delivery, slim battery, wireless controller, fast charge, no prego downtube

Agreed, the first time I seen the original Oso, I thought what a fugly bike 🤮

Then it grew on me, then I wanted one. A bit of San Andreas mountain cycle, it had the old school look and very unique.

The price drops stung indeed but it was an awesome bike and I still have it, probably not worth selling, I'll maybe keep it for bigger days out on rough stuff.

The new one 🙄 looks like it should have been released in 2021. I love Ibis and all that they do but that new bike is going to be a hard sell with the range of bikes we have in 2026.

Posted this pic before on here a while back on one of the pages, its one of the few bikes rated for a DH fork. Its a big boy at 170mm/205mm but its a beast.

Agree. I was looking for a new E-Mtb and ran across the Oso, and was REALLY motivated once they had the latest price drop. Only thing that stopped me was availability. Aparently once they made a batch, they didn't make anymore. I've searched for an XL in the bronze color for about a year now, and can't find one anywhere. Saw the new ones the other day and thought, "meh, I'll just hold on to my Orbea a while longer".

My new OSO TR before it shipped. Upgraded to GX Wireless and 200mm Rotors (stock is 220 and kinda overkill for our terrain). I have some Radials, AXS post and One-Up bars to put on when it arrives.

Agree completely. There's nothing "special" or better/different about this new Oso. I really wanted one of the previous models, but my size, XL, was out of stock for well over a year now. Guess I'll look at the new Levo or an Avinox bike now.
