All the Amp’d builds are hardwired to main battery to get all the featuresI was looking at it yesterday, and I do really like the TR build. However, for $8300, you're not getting a lot for the money. I was comparing it to the Pivot AMP'd, and although the AMP'd is $1200 more, it has better suspension, electronic shifting and the Avinox vs Bosch motor.
The other thing is that it looks like Ibis downgraded a lot of the spec compared to the Oso 1.1, and jacked the price up by $2300.
One of the things I like about the Avinox is how it's integrated with your shifting (smooth shift). I'm not sure if the Pivot has that or not, though.
The looks of the original were polarizing, but I loved it and ordered mine right after the launch in October 2022. That first $3K price drop stung in 2023, as did the second one in 2025, but other than that, it's been a great bike and Ibis has been super supportive over the last four years of ownership.

imagine this marvel of a bike, with a proper ecosystem assistance and motor ?Agreed, the first time I seen the original Oso, I thought what a fugly bike
Then it grew on me, then I wanted one. A bit of San Andreas mountain cycle, it had the old school look and very unique.
The price drops stung indeed but it was an awesome bike and I still have it, probably not worth selling, I'll maybe keep it for bigger days out on rough stuff.
The new onelooks like it should have been released in 2021. I love Ibis and all that they do but that new bike is going to be a hard sell with the range of bikes we have in 2026.
Posted this pic before on here a while back on one of the pages, its one of the few bikes rated for a DH fork. Its a big boy at 170mm/205mm but its a beast.

Agree. I was looking for a new E-Mtb and ran across the Oso, and was REALLY motivated once they had the latest price drop. Only thing that stopped me was availability. Aparently once they made a batch, they didn't make anymore. I've searched for an XL in the bronze color for about a year now, and can't find one anywhere. Saw the new ones the other day and thought, "meh, I'll just hold on to my Orbea a while longer".The looks of the original were polarizing, but I loved it and ordered mine right after the launch in October 2022. Currently, I am in the market for a replacement EMTB. I am not surprised that Ibis was more conservative this second time around, but this is pretty underwhelming. So conservative, small battery, saggy belly, etc...

Agree completely. There's nothing "special" or better/different about this new Oso. I really wanted one of the previous models, but my size, XL, was out of stock for well over a year now. Guess I'll look at the new Levo or an Avinox bike now.The looks of the original were polarizing, but I loved it and ordered mine right after the launch in October 2022. It's the only e-bike on the market that combines the Bosch Gen 5 system + DW Link suspension + adjustable geometry. There's nothing "special" or better/different about this new Oso
Nice highlight. It's the only e-bike on the market that combines the Bosch Gen 5 system + DW Link suspension + adjustable geometry.
I'd say it's one of the most unique models available currently.
