Why is Avinox always so keen to double all the numbers of the competition!?
Does a 480Wh Rex really make any sense, despite for super long rides, bikepacking or All Day Full Out Boost riding!?

Nice that they listend to the market demanding a Rex, but that thing is way too huge for most of us or?!

Indeed, a 250-300 that would fit most of the frame at around 1.5kg would be much better than this huge thing.... for the longest ride you could have one in the backpack but for most long rides that I do 800 + 250 would be ideal.

It seems 100% the same concept and design of the 600wh one (they one that you cannot buy anywhere) just 362mm instead of 434mm in length, weight should be around 2.4kg.... Not the best design and solution.

So did you all pay attention closely to the "However" part about the range extender.

However it will not work with a piggy back shock, it needs to be changed to one without a piggy back.

Interested to see if this is indeed true.

so if this is 480wh, what’s the fp300 then? if we stay with the names, the fp300 has the same cells as the fp700?

So the FP700 is the new battery .... seems like it could be a 300wh battery with the new cell package and would be a rex that makes way more sense for MTB´s.

The FP330 whatever it will be, if any, cannot use the same cells as the fp700. All the cells in the fp700 are in series and they make exactly 36v. Removing any cell will lower the voltage so it will not work.
The RS600 use the more normal cells in a combination of series and parallel, so removing some of the parallel ones removes the capacity but not the voltage.

For a 330wh one either they will use the same cells as the other batteries RS/FS but then the name is wired, or they need a different type of cell.
In theory similar form factor with same voltage per cell as FP700 but half the length thus half the capacity. This would yield to a 27cm x 6cm x 6cm ~1.6 kg RE that would be the best. Not sure cells like these exists...

That RE is really for their "touring" bike. At least they have a RE now so a smaller one for MTBs may be in the works.

Actually they already showcased even a bigger one, RS600 based, for PX and PR but fits only certain frame sizes. It is showcased on both Amflow and Avinox web site.
So nothing really new here same concept just a bit shorter and lighter version. Seems exactly the same crappy mounting system and cable as the RS600.

Thus I would not assume a smaller one will come as with this one (RS480) should fit all the Amflow M2/s versions so they may think that they have us covered. I really hope not but knows....

I think if they halved the length of this 480wh one and just used the lower bracket it would look a lot better and probably be fine.

It would basically have to be around 200-300 for the eMTBs. Halving the 480 in length would prob take it to 250 like the Bosch. No mountain biker is going to be lugging around a 480 weighing 6-7 lbs or whatever on mountain biking trails, at least not here. I sure would not even consider it, but for touring types, it may work well.

Man they are really going after specialized lmao

Amflow TL $3980

Specialized Levo X $11999

Maybe the Levo will eventually offer more than just the s works option though. The specialized is definitely decked out with way better components, but the general guy buying this kind of “overland” or commuter bike probably isn’t going to care as much. I mean you could also upgrade the amflow brakes, fork, shock and still be almost half the spesh.

Electronic trp derailleur is interesting

You can fit the Levo X racks to any Levo 4, about $420, you don’t have to buy a $11999 Levo X to go bike packing.

They are really going after Bosch aren't they? It's not enough to conquer the EMTB space, let's go after city and touring as well using the same motor platform and a chunky extender. The bike price is more secret sauce than anything. Feels like a bit like coasting from a company that we've come to expect a continued tech onslaught in the EMTB space (e.g. wishing for an MGU or super light motor/battery combo). Even breadcrumbs like a smaller extender can't be found.

I wouldn’t put the word coasting in any sentence with Avinox right now. In like 3 years they’ve dropped 2 motors (3 if you count rs), range extenders, 3 bikes now (this one appears to have changes to the frame as well), like 5 different battery options, and quite a bit of tech (Apple find my, drivechain features, nav, heart rate control, etc). Most the other guys did software updates for a little more power.

A light mgu will be the next sick thing worth upgrading to I agree. I am already seeing rumor videos of avinox mgu, but with all the ai stuff it’s hard to believe anything.

Having said that, Rob posted this on his IG today. Is it a hint?IMG_4444.webp

Man was I wrong with this statement. In the span of a few hours Avinox announces the MG motor-gearbox and new EVCT motor from Gobao splashes down. Eurobike is about to get interesting.
