I figured I would upload a few pics of my toys..

Nukeproof Scout 290 with a more an XC / Trail mix than your typical Scout. Its light, reliable and rolls really nicely. Easy on the uphill stuff and bags of fun on some casual trail type terrain. The rear brake is a bit too much at 203mm though but it does help reduce hand fatigue.

Specialized Status 160 - Modified a little with Burgtec Carbon bars, Burgtec Stem and somne other Burgtec bits. The rear Float X performance has been swapped out to an DHX2 Factory and the travel extended to 167mm. The fork has also been replaced with a Zeb (built to ultimate 3.1 spec) 190mm with Roval traverse DT350 wheels and Magura MT& pro HC3 stoppers on 220 F/R rotors.

Cube One77 Hybrid with Bosch Gen5 (2025 model). Renthal Carbon bars, Renthal Stem and Renthal Pedals. Hope Tech4 V4s on 220 F/R rotors. Its not quite as "fun" as the Status due to the extra weight but being able to pretty much go where ever I like when ever I like is an absolute game changer. I love it!

There is also a Charge Cooker 1 and a Scott Scale 50 but they get used with 3 year old on a seat on the top bar to go get ice-cream and to get them wanting to bike and to be out doors. Its working a treat, she loves it!!

A nice quiver of bikes. I need to load up a shot of my quiver of bikes. ,,,,,,, need to wash those bastards first.

Gave mine a quick clean after some hammering. Swapped out the wheels and tyres on the Specialized and went for something a bit chunkier and more compliant than the Cannibals. Reliable Magic Mary and the Hans Dampf in a chonky 2.6. Had my fun and lived to tell the tale. No love for the EMTB this weekend though….

Thinking of binning off the Status and the Scout and getting myself the new Canyon DH entry level bike. The Scout has been ridden all of about 300 yards in the last 2 months and the Status has only seen one park day. The EMTB is getting all the fun and I fancy a new toy. What’s the market looking like for these sort of bikes? Worth taking back to stock and selling on the parts separately (keeping the odds and sods for the new bike)?

Finally got around to taking a photo of the bikes in a cleanish stake.

From left to right, least travel to most travel.

Dmr trailstar 26" dirt jumper zero rear, 140mm front.

Deviate Claymore enduro bike. 170/180mm

Crestline S-180 Enduro E bike. 180/180mm

Trek session dh bike 200/200mm

Nice machines I like them.

Full XT drive train and braking system installed and gone full tubeless on this nice fast rolling wicked will tyres. The grip is surprisingly very good given the conditions this time of year although I’ve not gone out with the rain as it is.

Standard bars and STEM robbed off a cube and a Specialized have been swapped out for a carbon Deity Bar in black chrome with Deity grips and some Burgtec Silver stem spacers with an OE Nukeproof horizon silver stem. The bike feels great although I’m tempted to drop from 160mm at the front to 140/150 so may get a Lyric or a Pike with the black and chrome lowers. All in all I’m very happy to have kept a hold of the Scout, as hard tails go I don’t think you can really get much else better outside of the boutique brands.

I also swapped out the cube dropper post and lever for an OneUp v2 that I had laying about. Less flex, quicker and smoother vs the oem part that came with my one77.

The one77 got some love a couple of days back. Took some time to really think about how I can make the bike as bomb proof as possible so Hope5s on FR541 with an Argotal rear and an Kryptotal front. I’ve got a cushcore pro to go on the rear, will see how I get on first without but it’s there waiting and ready just in case.

What lengh cranks are you running.

Not really touched on the 4th toy but as it gets my little one out it is by far my favourite even if an absolute bag of nails. Things built like a tank though and at 9 years old is still going strong!!

Some slight changes to the Scout, carbon wheels on it now to compliment the bars. Much stiffer and lighter than the crap that was on it.

Winter fun without too many worries sorted!

So I did a thing..

I went and slung a fox 38 170 on the front of the Scout and swapped the tyres out for Kryptotal front and Xynotal rear. Rides nicely, tyres and much better for the trails here as I found I wasn’t getting what I needed out of the wicked Wills although they rolled exceptionally well!

I also decided to dust off the park bike and give it a blast out over the bank holiday weekend. It’s so much fun but part of me really wants to go get myself a DH, perhaps either the Airdrop Slacker or stretch to the Atherton S.200. (Both frame only and build from there).

Her she is.
