What size frame? I just cross posted in the m20 wheel upgrade thread, but the stock wheels are 2,315g A half decent wheel upgrade takes 400g off of that, and a good wheel upgrade takes 500-600g off quick.

It is a medium. When I weighed the front wheel with tubes it alone was 2 pounds heavier than my sc reserve, 203 ice tech, hellcat, combo. My guess is I saved 4 lbs with wheels and handlebar and just added it right back with fork, shock, and brakes.

2 pounds on one wheel alone is a head scratcher. tubes are about 200g, but 4oz of sealant is 100g... so there is only a 100g savings there. the hellcat is about 150g heavier then the 2.4 dissector. So between the tire/tube/sealant that all washes out. SC reserve 30's are not actually very light at all and pretty much any build of those not using berd spokes is going to be at about 1800g with about 800 of that being the front wheel (that's what my reserve 30s with dt350 front wheel weighs). So that would have to mean that the oem front rim alone would have to weigh 1600g in order to have a snowballs chance in hell of saving 2 pounds.

From my experience and weighing the parts... the oem wheelset weight is very heavy. But, changing it out to an 1800g wheelset is essentially a wash after you take the oem tires on and put real ones on. There is a ton of performance to be gained there, but with real tires coming into the mix, there isn't much weight to be saved off of the bike overall with the swap.

My opinion on these is that if you're trying to increase the performance and take it from trail bike to nudging into all mountain or enduro bike... you're going to end up pretty much at the same spot as the oem weights when you're done. There will be ups and downs along the way, but once you factor in tires, larger suspension products and a few other items... it comes out a wash.

It was a head scratcher for me too. Here are the pics.

To clarify, i wasnt complaining about the weight. It was to give some real world number for people asking. It will likely get a little heavier too when I start testing better rear shocks (Jade X and Mara Pro) and add a set of dominion A4 brakes.

Definitely the easiest weight savings are getting rid of the AR30's. I went with RF Next R 31's which were 1765g for an instant savings of 1.21lbs (550g).

I just got the H30, completely stock and I was wondering about the weight. Thanks for posting! It sure feels lighter than that when I ride though (thankfully)! I have ridden the Trek Rail 9.8 and it felt heavy compared to the Rise. My rise barely feels heavier than my Stumpjumper when I am riding it, but it sure rolls a hell of a lot easier !
