Seems like Glow Worm has a light that does plug into usb port.Right, so the picture here is a bit more nuanced than "plug a light into the USB port." Let me clarify what's actually going on with the Avinox display and lights, @Singletrackmind.
The Avinox display (DP100) has two different output types and they serve different purposes: The USB-C port is a charging port for your devices.
It's a fold-out USB-C port that delivers up to 65 watts - equivalent to a fast charger - so you can charge phones, bike computers, and the like.
It is not designed as a powered light output. You're not going to run a trail light from it in the way you'd run a Bosch light from the light port.
For actual bike lights, there's a dedicated Higo socket on the display output cable. A Higo plug connects to the Higo socket on the output of the Avinox display, via a short cable that comes from the underside of the display.
The manufacturers that have developed specific compatibility with the Avinox Higo output are: • Supernova - makes a dedicated Power Connector Cable for DJI Avinox.
It plugs into the Avinox display integrated in the top tube and allows plug-and-play light connection. • Lupine -
compatible via the Micro-B connector version of the EBIKE24 adapter cable. • Busch + Müller, Sigma -
both work via the open-ended cable version from EBIKE24, which supports headlights and tail lights on an Avinox system. • DJI Avinox Front Light (first-party) -

According to their website: Gloworm XSV-PD Light System (G2.1) | Gloworm
The XSV-PD Light System (G2.1) is the world’s first bike light built specifically for DJI Avinox and compatible with any e-bike with a USB-C PD output port. It delivers 3600 lumens powered directly by your e-bike, no separate battery required. Using USB-C PD technology, it draws power straight from the e-bike system battery, giving you unlimited runtime and one less thing to charge. Compatible with DJI Avinox and any other e-bike with a USB-C PD output port. Its compact form factor and versatile mounting options give you the freedom to position your light exactly where you need it.
Thinking there may be other manufacturers as well.
Right on TylerHey there Singletrackmind -
Tyler here at Gloworm.
You’re correct. Last week at Sea Otter Classic, we launched the XSV-PD. The world’s first high performance light designed specifically for the Avinox motor powered e-bikes.
3600 lumens. Wireless Bluetooth remote, Interchangeable optics, Smartphone App to create custom output/runtime profiles, in a plug-n-play format.

If you want simplicity, I’d suggest CX Core. It’s our newest self contained light. 1750 lumens - same Gloworm features: interchangeable optics, app compatibility and you can pair both lights to a single Gloworm remote.Right on Tyler
Right on Tyler!
I'm super excited about that light, don't have to worry about being stranded in the dark!
My new DJI Avinox powered Crestline RS181.2 is scheduled to arrive in Juna and I'm in the process of getting everything I need.
The interchangeable optics is a game changer and drawing power straight from my bikes battery is exactly what I've been looking for.
Do you have a recommendation for a helmet light to compliment the XSV-PD?

@bikedrd - brilliant, glad it's working out well! Full On are a solid outfit for lights and kit, good call going through them.I ended up getting the light from Full On. It is very very good!
@Plummet - good shout on Magicshine. They do have an e-bike compatible range with lights that draw power from the motor system rather than a separate battery. Whether they've got Avinox-specific compatibility is the bit I can't confirm right now - their e-bike lineup has historically focused on Bosch and Shimano EP8 integration, and Avinox is still relatively new territory for third-party accessory makers.have a look at magic shine. They have a range or E compatible lights. Not sure if they offer avinox options.
I did the same, usb-c with no battery, it is bright and lightweight exactly what I was looking for.I ended up getting the light from Full On. It is very very good!
Hi MetroNeck,Hi Gloworm, thanks for engaging us in the forum…
Any chance you will offer a Higo connector for the light? Night riding here usually means wet riding, and I am concerned about water ingress @ the USB-C connection.
It would also be much cleaner…
