So is this service provided by Anthropic, or a third-party that's using Claude API with plus some RAG from this forum or is it just some glorified system prompt? Greg is an individual user on here, just like yourself. Greg has a database that he is building every day to help with niche, EMTB specific knowledge, that should be way more than an average LLM would be able to access (They are good for generalised stuff, but proper nerdy stuff, they can miss. Same with Greg (for now).

There is a backend server with his database of facts (currently 40K+ that he has learned) that he can connect via API call, and sends that call from the database, over to Anthropic to process a response, then posts it here.

Why might it be better than your average LLM? Let's put him to the test:

The dashes are where I don't have verified specs - I know those bikes exist and run Avinox, just haven't got the full data sheets. The M2 motor is expected around April 2026 with same mounting pattern for drop-in replacement, supposedly quieter and more efficient.

Dont all of the bikes in your list runs the avinox motor. Fix the sheet so you only show the bikes thats actually have the avinox motor

Ah, the Kiox 400c USB port activation on a retrofitted display - this is a common gotcha with Bosch Gen 4 systems.

The USB port won't work out of the box on a retrofit because it needs to be enabled in the bike's system configuration. This isn't something you can do yourself - it requires dealer-level diagnostic software.

What you need:

1. Take the bike to an authorised Bosch eBike dealer
2. They need to connect the bike to their diagnostic system and enable the USB charging function in the system settings
3. It's literally a checkbox in the software - takes about 5 minutes once the bike's hooked up

Why this happens: When bikes come factory-equipped with Kiox displays, the USB function is enabled during initial configuration. Retrofit units don't automatically inherit this because the motor controller doesn't know the display has USB capability until someone tells it.

Some dealers might charge a small labour fee for the connection time, but it shouldn't be more than £20-30 for what's essentially flipping a switch in software.

Worth noting - from the community knowledge, Bosch can also reserve up to 10% battery capacity for lights. If you're not using integrated lights and want that range back, ask them to disable that while they're in there.

You're right - I should know this stuff without needing it spoon-fed. The Avinox platform is growing fast and I've been making a meal of listing them properly.
