I'm learning to like going uphill as fast as I go down😉

Today I was riding with 2 guys that have WAY more MTB experiance than I do, they are on Specialized S-Works Turbo Levos 4 (111 Nm and 850 W). They had left me when headed down the switchbacks, normally they wait at the bottem before heading up a fire road, this time they just kept moving at full speed.

I ezaly caught and pased them, its the 1st time I was doing 29-30mph on the way up that path. Turbo can be fun, LOL

The power is obviously very cool, but I'm finding the many other features of the Avinox M2S motor are just as freaking awesome!

Mainly ride in the custom modes I created, like the SmoothShift feature the more I use it and the algorithms for traction really add to the improved performance.

Watched a video last night on the still in design Avinox gearbox motor that maybe a game changer! Same footprint as M2S.

Super fun time to be an emtb rider!

Great point about the crestie. I absolutely love AXS dropper and sacrificed the ability to go with a 200mm+ dropper because of this nonsensical personal preference.

My new Zendit arrived and after completing the minimal assembly requirements, I sat on the bike with stock components and m/l frame size seems like the right fit for my intended use. I'm 6ft even and if I was any taller, this size would be too short.

Great input BTW about SQLAB Saddle & shorter cranks to hack low insertion point.
I ended up with a Large Zendit because I felt the M/L was too small. I felt more on top of the front wheel than I preferred. I'm 6'0" as well. I got the XR so I don't have to do any upgrades for a while...I'd just like to ride the bike. Upgraded from a Kenevo. One problem though is that the dropper is for 6'4" people so I am waiting for the dropper to come in that goes with teh m/l size.

Sounds like large size frame was best option for you. Other anthropometric measurements such as leg inseam and arm reach factor into the equation as well as height.

For my intentions, the M/L was the right call and I would have considered the large if I the Zendit was my only emtb.

Don't know why more bike manufacturers don't give customers options to choose dropper length, coil shock spring rate and maybe even tires. They wouldn't have to stock a lot of expensive components potentially eat the cost later.

I like how Orbea gives you some component options (specially the paint color schemes) but I end up swapping most components out anyway because I'm so picky.

On my Zendit, I literally changed out every component and hardware. Sold the take-offs to my riding buddies at "friendly" prices and ended up spending the same $ amount I would have if I went for the stock top tier model.

Curious to your thoughts now that you've most likely put more miles on your Zendit.

I picked up a size Large Zendit XR yesterday from Wheel World in Woodland Hills. I'm 6'0" with a fairly long reach. Before buying, I rode an M/L, but it felt like I was a little too far over the front wheel. The Large felt much more natural.
I'm coming from a 2023 Kenevo, which I love, but I'm looking for something with a little more pep and quicker handling. The dual crown on the Kenevo is awesome for what it is, but I wanted something that carves tighter turns a bit better.
I'm thinking I may end up swapping to a different stem, but I'm happy with the rest of the standards on this bike.
I also remember seeing someone on Reddit around my height who went with the Large and was really happy with it.
Plus the shop is waiting on a dropper post from the M/L to swap in since the post doesn't work for me.
Anyone else around 6'0" on a Large? I'd love to hear your experience and whether you ended up making any cockpit changes. Thanks!

yes agree. Swapping out components is something I use to do but I got the top end one this time as I didn't want to deal with all of that this time as I'm displaced from our home due to the fires here and I don't have time to deal with rebuilding a bike. All I do is fight insurance and remediation companies all day. Anyway, a new bike helps as a cure all already! I also posted a question below asking what others did to their bikes if they chose Large as well. Thanks for your response and I'll be back with more info as I ride it as I tend to ride a lot around here in LA basin. Thanks.

I’d be curious about this too. I’m at the end of the M/L spectrum at 6’1 but when I look at the geo numbers the large seems too stretched out. A 500 reach seems like a lot.

thanks KarlC I'd take you up on that but I want the bike shop to furnish the right stock item so I can stay with their warranty...then consider some options afterwards. Appreciate it! and thanks.

yeah my reach on the Kenevo was only a cm shorter. So I wasn't too worried about it. The kenevo is 3cm longer too so I felt I made the right choice. They couldn't et the M/L for quite a while anyway and when I hopped on a M/L it felt like a tad small. Of course there's ways to fix/adapt it on either size...just curious since it was a big decision with a $15.6k bike. twice the amount I've ever spent on bike. :)

Works Components sells headsets that allows you to adjust the reach in/out at 3, 5, 7 & 10mm. Also have headsets that allow you to adjust headset angle as well as obvious other options such as adding stem spacers and bars with more backsweep to adjust effective reach.

I really think there is some geometrical voodoo going on with Mondraker. They seem to fit smaller than the numbers.
New fear unlocked when ordering a bike. The M/L numbers are bang on to the large yeti LTE that I really enjoyed. The L mondraker equates to the XL yeti

How was wheel World to deal with? I live nearby in Woodland Hills, off Topanga Canyon Blvd. I moved here from Arizona 1.5 years ango and was really hoping to find a local bike shop I could work with. When I first moved here, they only had Specialized and Giant, but they’ve since added Forbidden, Orbea and Mondraker. My current bike is a 2024 Wild, so I was very stoked to hear they’d become a dealer. I went down to the shop shortly after they became a dealer on two separate occasions, ready to spend some money on upgrading my brakes and swapping for the 600 wh battery. They couldn’t help me either time, but did take my information the second time and said they’d contact me. They did send me an email asking for the my bike’s serial number, I provided it within a few hours, then crickets. They never responded.

Since the Wild LT has been introduced, I’ve been in the shop 3 times to inquire about the bike and let them know my interest in purchasing. They were less than helpful. I spend a lot of money on bikes, usually replace them every 2 years or less. I really wanted to find a shop I could work with, like I had in Arizona. I was blown away at the level of service from Wheel World vs. the numerous great shops in Arizona.

I’ve since contact a friend of mine who has a relationship with the owner of a bike shop in Orange County. He called the guy, let him know I was interested in the bike, the guy called his Orbea rep to get details, explained everything to me about release dates, ordering, lack of 28 mph capabilities, etc. We took a lot of time to discuss build options I wanted and bike parts in general. When our call was finished, he sent me a deposit invoice, I paid, and I am at the top of the queue for my new bike. This is the level of service that makes me want to give someone my money. Anyways, hope your experience with them was good, hopefully I was just unlucky and they are a decent shop.

Sorry about your house. I moved out here from Arizona because of the Wildfires. I was a Major Case insurance adjuster for one of the largest insurance carriers for 13 years. My brother has been a custom home builder in LA for 18 years . I came out to work with him on clearing lots following the fires (we cleared about 50). We will be focusing on the reconstruction in the Palisades now. We have a few lots we are building and selling.

I have helped several of our clients navigate their claim, so feel free to reach out via IM if you want some advice or insight from someone that did it for a long time. I am blown away at the BS some of these clients are getting from their carriers.

Enjoy that bike, I am sure it will be sick!

@deerock @MetroNeck @Tokidokijake .... Im just under 6ft and went with a size large, its perfect because when riding the Zendit it feels smaller, lighter and quicker in all ways than my last 2 size large EMTBs did.

I removed the stock bars, stem and all of the spacers and installed a ERGOTEC High Ray stem and One Up Carbon bars that I cut down.

Note that when you cut down your bars you are also shorting your reach, so keep that in mind.

Part of the reason I swaped out the stem was I hate the look of the tall stack of spacers, as any ex-roadie would LOL, this stem kept the bars at the right height still.

Ex-roadie? Gross, but glad you’ve found your way to proper living.

I hear you on the spacers, but after demo’ing a few Forbidden’s, I am now such a big fan of stack height, that I have to max them out.

LOL, if you want to relax and zone out nothing beats a ride up the San Diego coast

If you like a taller stack height you would love a tall stack stem like ERGOTEC High Ray, my stack is taller now with no spacers and I can still go up from here.

Interesting! What did you ride before the Zendit?

The stem is 30 mm in length, that should explain the vodoo geo no? ;)
