Missing a part off my Yamaha battery?

The manual clearly shows an end cap for the battery to cover the charging inlet.

Yet my battery does not have one:

Am I missing a part?

Has it been like that from new?
Also the connections between the charger and battery is a known problem area which dealers say is not repairable when broken so take care when plugging and unplugging the charger into battery .
 
That's only the lid, he has that.

He's talking about the little endcap which is absent from your battery (and mine too).
Really? I couldn’t see it in the photo as it was so dark, can only see the socket. I have no other end cap and nothing in the box.

Edit: Ah I see the confusion now, there are two types of battery and ours is the downtube type which has the cap built in to the lid, so nothing missing. See diagram at top (y)
