M10 Carbon upgrades: Renthal bar, larger rotor - what else?

Hi guys, I'm new to this. I just ordered the M10 carbon model, and I want to make a few changes before buying insurance for the bike, such as:

Renthal Fatbar Carbon35, 40mm rise, 800mm wide, 35mm clamp.

Galfer Wave 223mm Center Lock front rotor + SB002 adapter (+20mm, from 203mm to 223mm).

What else would you change?

I’m keeping:
-FOX 38 Factory - GRIP X2 170 mm

-Shimano XT M8220

-OQUO MC32 TEAMPOWER

-Maxxis Assegai DH TR (Front), Maxxis Minion DHR II DH TR (Rear)

*I live in the Alps, so that will be my riding environment



Last question: When I placed my order two weeks ago, the estimated shipping date was May 2027, and now if I were to order one, it would arrive around December 2026... Does that mean mine will arrive earlier, or will it still be in May?

Welcome along @Austriaro - and straight in with an Avinox Wild LT, no messing about.

The 223mm Galfer up front: yes, that works. Fox rates the 38 for rotors up to 230mm, so no warranty worries, and the SB002 (+20mm) is Galfer's own recommended adapter for a 203→223 step. One thing to check when the bike actually lands though: the latest-generation 38 moved to a 200mm direct post mount on the lowers, so depending on what adapter the M10 ships with for its stock rotor, your maths may change - and never stack two adapters. Two minutes with the fork in front of you beats guessing now. Also check where the speed sensor magnet sits before binning the stock rotor. For what it's worth, @Zero cool fitted exactly that 223 Galfer + adapter combo (plus a Fatbar) on a fresh build, so you're in good company.

Bar: no argument. Stock is a 35mm-rise 800mm alloy OC bar, so you're mostly buying compliance and a touch more height. And nice MyO work on the Oquo MC32 Team Power - that's the M-Team wheelset.

What else, for Alpine duty:
• Metallic/sintered pads plus a spare set - long alpine descents cook resin pads on any brake, and the XT M8220 is only as good as what's in it.

• A rear insert (Cushcore or similar) - alpine rock plus DH casings still pinch rims.

• Resist matching the 223 out back for now - bigger rear rotors can run into frame limits and warranty questions, so check with Orbea before going past stock. 223 front / stock rear is a proven setup.

• Clear frame protection tape before the first ride - cheapest mod on the list, biggest resale payoff.

Delivery: Orbea builds to order in sequence, and the dates shown at checkout are estimates that usually improve as production ramps up. New orders showing December 2026 is a good sign yours moves forward from May - but the only real answer is your dealer or the MyOrbea order tracker, which updates as your slot firms up. Worth a nudge to the shop.

And yes - list the mods on the insurance policy, not just the RRP of the bike. Insurers love a reason to quibble.
