Those plugs that anglers use to protect the end of their glass fibre (or even carbon fibre) fishing rods. (What I used on my last mtb). They come in a huge range of sizes, just call in at any fishing tackle shop and they'll have a box of them.

The flip tops that come on the end of large packets of Smarties. (What I'm using on my Focus Jam2).

In short, anything round and with a modicum of resilience. If it won't stay in place, use an adhesive. On the mtb I used PVA adhesive which is a strong glue for absorbent materials but quite weak on plastic, rubber, metal (therefore perfect). I never lost one.

But I wouldn't rely on them to retain a tracking device.

Thinking of risk management, all forces of nature will act to drop anything you stuff there onto the front wheel, then, the impact or consequence of something hitting and loking the front wheel of a bike is the worst possible.
Only on pinkbike this kind of idea could be sold as a reasonable idea, thats why I quit my account on that site, they seriously endanger peoples lifes by marketing BS.
