In South Africa we allowed to shoot anyone at any time.... and even shoot someone for their ebike.

Everyone talks about America. Meanwhile south africans busy killing everyone. Ok ill shut up now . Scary awesome place Africa. Kinda like America .
SA is way worse than the US. I spent some time there as an anti-poaching ranger when I first got out of the military. I drove a bulletproof landcruiser and lived in house surrounded by 12ft tall walls with razor wire around the top. I still had idiots trying to break in the house, they’d throw rugs over the razor wire and climb over the walls.

SA has different laws than some of the other countries, you couldn’t just shoot a poacher that you caught in the act. You couldn’t fire your weapon until fired upon, which happened less than you would think. Some of the more well funded poachers were hiring security to come in and protect them though, those were the ones that would result in a fire fight. We were there to mainly teach tactics/planning and really just general babysitting. It paid extremely well at the time, better than any of the other PMC jobs I was looking at.

The 10k limit is quite the norm in most countries (10k Euros in EU f.e.) but nowadays I get it directly to my account, still tax free.

I wondered if it would be lighter, more playful, maybe more powerful in it's delivery now it's 2023 (in bike years - they're like dog years, but you don't *7 or change every year on the promise that the new one is way way better - common sense still applies there for some reason.... now if we had e-dogs......).
It's about time this thread came off track a bit .. it's been way too serious for the last 4 years ? ;-)
Rumour has it that some people have been going out wearing disguises and enjoying riding their existing bikes.
Some weirdo's have even started buying the discounted ones noticing that they can buy a lightweight Spesh E-bike for half the price of the competition because - it goes further !!! It's the new SSL ! (on your wallet..) ..
OK .. it makes at electric noise ... Just tell everyone you have a vibrator up your ..., trust me, 9/10 people just smile and say OK, enjoy your day ... The other 1/10 are genuinely excited and interested people of the opposite sex (the last sentence has been sponsored by our official sponsor of the day "Bambam global sex toys and things to kill bambi with inc"

Now I'm a bit conflicted about other brand sl riders with silent mode
As a long time (since 2020) SL rider, I have to say I'm digging the Pivot SL's almost silent motor.
I have had a 170/160-mm F/R SL for 2 years. I heard it will have a Kenevo SL like suspension with drop outs to let you change between 29'r and mullet setups.

Not going to name the reserve... but a friend of mine worked there and they got into a shooting match with poachers. they left them where they shot them for the Hyena;s to finish off.

Back on topic now. I think specialised have missed the mark on this one. I think the SL would of been outdated before it even reached the floor. I really really do hope im wrong as I would love to see something amazing from them.
But I feel they delayed the launch cause they released what they had was not up to scratch with what was just released by the other brands. So they have gone back to the drawing board to wow us... My hope.

I was in my LBS yesterday - and asked them about the new SL. They said it appeared on their online system for a day, and disappeared.
He also said that there was a huge pile of S-Works ‘22 models in stock that he thought they were trying to shift before announcing the new one.
Who knows?!
I’m not in any desperate rush to change… so will see what happens EVENTUALLY!!
