I recently purchased a 2017 Levo FSR, and a 2021 Levo frame and want to know what current 2023 year model parts are compatible (if any).

I'm not even sure how to identify a Gen1, Gen2 or Gen3. There doesn't seem to be any information on the Specialized website. It seems they expect people to just know?

Does anyone have a comprehensive comparison between the Levo "generations"?
thanks!

For quick visual identification :

Gen1 had a sort of slope above the motor.
Gen2 was flat above the motor
Gen3 had the slope back

Gen 1 used Brose 1.2/1.3
Everything else used Brose 2.1 Mag S (though called 2.2 on Gen3).

These are not interchangable, but the 1.3 is quieter and with 5.4.2 firmware or above, will pull 20 amps, so is more powerful.

Gen1 uses a different battery to it's siblings.

Other than that, pretty much every part is different, though forks, wheels and so on are potentially interchangable.

Gen4 is different again, but not out yet.

I was thinking that everything an owner would likely swap; wheels, tires, fork, shock, derailleur, cranks/pedals, stem, handlebar, dropper, saddle, would work across all generations. Unless there is some 27.5/29 incompatibility.

Everything that makes a Spesh a Spresh; frame parts, motor, battery, would have to be researched before swapping.

I realize we're saying essentially the same thing, but with different emphasis. :)

Gen1 came around July 2015 ?

To start at the beginning you can tell the difference on these points.
Gen 1 has Green lighs on the left side of the battery on the Frame.
Gen 2 has a TCO on the top of the Frame with lights on it.
Gen 3 Comps etc, have the same TCU, but the battery connector is different. Gen 3 has a little door that opens.
Gen 3 higher end bikes, have the Mastermind TCU with a screen and and numbers etc.
As for parts, very few Gen 2 and 3 parts will interchange. Many Gen2 and Gen 3 are the same. Battery (but with a different cover), Motor, etc, but again a lot depends on what model Gen2, a Comp uses Shimano compents but higher end uses Sram. Both have FOX shupension but different levels.
Gen 3 bikes are a littl emore slack then the Gen 2 bikes. In the ends lots of differences.

I tried that, good luck, but expect crickets.

Agreed, this shouldn't be the case. Manufacturers should openly provide schematics and parts lists.
Inbike.com is helping me, there is very little information out there. I'm collecting everything I can and will start a new post containing all the verifed information I have collected.
