This is a good explainer:
Class 1, 2, 3 Explained
Thanks, so that 3 class system was initiated in California and 36 states have adopted that. My state has not.
quick link- PA E-Bike Laws: What You Need to Know - Velotric

Doesnt matter anyway, federal law from 2019 says its a bicycle and clearly states that they are encouraging access to ebikes on the land. Inconsistent "land managers" in California take note.

"The Order states that this regulatory uncertainty has led to inconsistent management of e-bikes across the Department and, in some cases, served to decrease access to Federally owned lands by users of e-bikes. In order to address these concerns, the Order directs the NPS and other Department of the Interior agencies to define e-bikes separately from motor vehicles and to allow them where other types of bicycles are allowed."

Agreed with this, they should have given this to the Market pre the AMflow being launched, missed an opportunity imo. It looks nice in the right colour but that’s about it it’s 2nd division frame, battery, motor wise. Agree the only reason to own this over the AMflow is the back up and support, which is actually a very good reason with an EMTB..
They are a year late based off of their usual 3 years cycle. The gen 3 came out almost exactly 4 years ago.

American based, right?

So a 95% chance he hasn't ridden the Chinese wonder kid?
Definitely hasn’t but in saying that allot and allot of reviews love the Amflow BUT would be their first choice of riding bike for various reasons, in saying that chances are this bike could just be that good

Bike is now so overweight that the alloy comps get a downgrade to 600 Wh. Last time I rode a 25 kg bike (which the comp carbon is with pedals and tubes) was the old Orbea Wild. My least favourite of all the emtbs I've owned.

Still, I'm eager to see it in person. Could be better than the specs indicate.

Yes, but i think he is saying the 840 battery is actually two batteries that both fit in the downtube. Take the 240 out and you have your swatbox. If that is correct, I would say that is kinda a game changer. A modular battery is a pretty obvious development, that many of us have dreamed of for years. Being able to override the speed limiter is another game changer imo. Can't wait for Tuesday. My Lbs cleared out a huge display area and are hidding them in the back with armed guards ;)

That would actually be a game changer. Is that confirmed by now? (like the modular battery, not the cat 3 stuff as I'm strictly use this as a mountainbike and the laws in Europe won't allow this anyway)

The battery is not modular. How many more times does this need to be posted??? 🤦‍♂️

A better Gen3 Carbon comparison to a Gen4 than the previous one (similar sized bike) ..

Plus that image was on the page before, which is like 4 years ago and long forgotten in terms of Gen4 threads .. It's also in the images thread .. (wot ? where ?) :

Other than a different feeling and sounding motor .. do we really think it's going to ride that much different ???

Whatever these colors mean

Comp Alloy ->
  1. Gloss Deep Lake Metalic / Dune White
  2. Satin Dusky Pink / Cypress Metalic
  3. Satin Gunmetal / Obsidian
Anyone seen any further details on the alloy versions?

Only thing I read so far is it comes with 600wh battery. I assume it will also have cable ports for a cable derailleur.

Time to close down this thread since in a few hours thruth will be uncovered ppl get confused with all these conspiracy theories.

The computer says NO

so the workshop manager went to a weeks training on the new bike and he DOES NOT LIKE E-BIKES needless to say he was blown away with how well it rides and handles says with out a doubt the best bike he’s ridden
Says plenty falls because it’s just so fast , also I was worried about wet conditions , says spesh on a training vid Submerged a bike for 2 mins took bike out drained water switched on a rode it . Was a concern for me we have allot of water now on trails , he explained that the didn’t focus on water proofing in as much as water shedding and making sure water get out and released out super fast
So let’s see when the reviews flood in
hopefully it was Jonkershoek and not the spruit

Wow! I think you are probably right about ride and handling being the same - and that makes a strong case for me to buy a light blue 2024 Comp Alloy in my size sitting on my shop floor - at a cheap cheap price. (plus I will get 700wh)

Agree, I still ride a 26+kg(ride ready) Giant Reign with an 800Wh pack and comparing it to a 22kg bike is non existent. The Reign comes alive though at higher speeds, open terrain and it unbelievable how light it feels then. When you get into blocked terrain and slow sections it's a different story it becomes a cruise ship basically.

I think the Levo will be something in between, satisfying the most, but not the true shred entusiasts. All of those will off course over fork it, coil instead of air, better wheels, burlier tires, etc...

About the Alu models, my guess that with an 840Wh or an 600+extender they will reach 26+kg just like my Reign.
