Posted footage from my run where I achieved 3rd (of 241 eMTB riders) in Strava segment “White Horse - All the Way Up” at Hawes. My goal was to get in the top 3 but I think I can get 2nd, if not 1st if I keep trying.
Segment is a gradual 2.3% climb of 498' over 3 miles. This was 12:09 with the KOM 10:59.

Began Hawes today from my buddy's house so we rode the original area of the trail system that I don't usually ride. Finished up on the oldest trail at Hawes, "Upper Hawes." Originally this was where a utility laid cable, and I guess people started riding/hiking it. There's a crazy tight section right at the beginning that I haven't figured out yet, but this was only my second time on it.

Also evident is how my rear tire is DONE. There will be a new one on for the next ride.

Last Sunday I tested the race route of the Gorrick Torq 3-6-9 XC Endurance race which will be at Minley this coming Sunday 10th May. Minley has been the subject of some quite destructive forestry work and the Gorrick team have had a lot of work to do to sort out the route.
I rode with Peter from the the Gorrick Team who has been working on this and the purpose of the ride was to see how it rode, was it logical and link well etc. It was ridden at a steady pace and there was a small group of us from BOBOB (Berks On Bikes Old Boys). The course seems good and although there will some tweaks it will basically be the race route.
So, this isn't a speedy ride but ended up a nice XC course IMO.

Just started a YT channel for a laugh.
Testing the new Bosch 120nm update

A game of 2 halves at Golfie
Good to see some fellow Golfie riding @Rob_S and at a fast pace too (y) Those roots on Wolves are lethal and I usually take the version to left with the switchbacks instead.

More frustrating F words
what trail are you on at the 10' mark?
I think the double you cross at 14:10 is where I broke my front wheel last month.
you are getting further on the skinny drop - won't be long now ;)
I went through the second one way too fast Saturday

Its just off the viewpoint at Holmbury, Wet and Wild i think?
Watching "MooseMears" video earlier, higher up that trail is now a dual slalom. Here
I'll get that drop! I fricking will!!!! yeah that second one is another little step up because of the landing.

ah right - always been scared of the 'Blacks' - think I may have walked down some of it
need to add that one to our ride this weekend! Thanks

Went to Glentress for a few laps, first of the lower section with the youngest and then up on the more off piste bits, so 2 quite different vids today. I actually bothered to check tyre pressures for once, but the lad lost 15psi somewhere along the way…there’s a limit to how much grip you can get taking air out ND 😂

Loads of fun at the Golfie today, right up till the forest took a bite out of my bike 😱😂

I came a cropper on the second drop Friday, the landing is a bit short to get the berm, the loam is now gone - and I bounced off the roots and rocks into an OTB. Started doing the ones on Au Natural instead - bit bigger but nicer landings.
have added Wet n Wild and Crack Pipe to our route - really enjoying those - although not doing the gaps quite yet
went out 5 days in a row

Hope you're not injured?

I've not ridden enough recently, but have been building up strength in the upper body, which I was lacking and thus causing my paranoia.

no more than usual! I crash a LOT
hope the strength building helps!
many people don't like riding off the end of planks - you're not alone

Wasn't at all planning to achieve a new PR on the Goat traverse/connector yesterday but I guess I was feeling ambitious at the moment. Uploaded to share with a friend and figured if I went that far I'll share here too.

This 1:49 time put me 180th (top 11%) out of 1642 eMTB riders logging with Strava. KOM is 1:24 so I have work to do, but I can definitely do better than 1:49.
