Bummer if it’s 29. Sounds like an enduro SL. I was hoping for just a newer version of the 2020 with shock down low and maybe a little lighter. I really don’t understand why the kenevo is so much heavier than the levo? Has any tried to lighten their kenevo build? I wonder what you could get it down to.

according to the internet the 2020 kenevo is 5lbs more than the levo comp. I guess that could be down to build.

I had my 2020 down to 52.5lbs at one point. She is 54lbs now, about 3 lbs heavier than my levo comp..
 
It‘s 19,1 Kilos in S4 with Expert Spec (without pedals) with Grid Trail tires. With Grid Gravity carcass goes to be near 20 Kilo ? Downtube is normal like the Levo SL. Less playful, could be because of 3 Kilos heavier than my SL or because of S4 compared to my size M, which is like S2. Or a bit of both ?

probbaly all of the above, but definitely because it’s slacker, more of a ground hugging monster (if it’s anything like the enduro that it’s modeled after), more travel, short offset fork, etc.

19.1kg isn’t terrible. My guess is you could drop to 18.5 or 18kg with lighter bars, lighter cassette (assuming gx or nx given spesh spec), carbon wheels, and lighter fork. The mezzer is 200-300 grams ligjter than the fox 38, and it’s in the same class. Heck my sl is probably 18.5-19kg as it sits right now with a coil, but I haven’t had the heart to weigh it

glad they have an expert. Maybe just maybe it will be under $10k usd ?
 
First you have to go up with the weight when you put reasonable tires on ? But yeah, not terrible. I will try to check a correct size on day and use the seatstay geometry setting to switch to 27.5 in the rear.

@Chris1969's is nicely taken, so it doesn't reveal anymore of the bike than we already know about based on the patent.

Or it could be that they're all just on holiday. It is E-Stare after all. According to the EMTBWIKI that's a very important EMTB holiday as it remembers that fabled day when the first ever levo motor was swapped and the bike was resurrected after only 3 days in the shop.
 
I mean.. it's an enduro with SL guts. We all know that now The real speculation is in the numbers... price, Geo, kinematics, price, spec, price, motor torque, battery size, price...
 
but being a specialized people will complain about the price and still make it sell out.
 
Tested again today. It seems that the Kenevo SL 1.1 has more power. TCU shows 300Watts max power. Maybe a bit more Nm (50 maybe?). It has some punch, but still nearly no support when rpm is under 60.

Interesting . I never really checked what output I can get from the motor on the sl, but I do recall peak power being more than advertised. Though it very well could be boosted a bit or torque curve more optimal for peak power.

do you happen to know what mode you were in?

I think the SL's put out a max of approximately 300w (in). Which then translates to 240w output due to motor efficiencies.

I checked it in 25/100, 50/100 and 100/100 in Eco/Trail/Turbo

I see, never checked on my SL because i never ride with a phone, so no motor data for me. The new TCU shows motor and rider power permanently.

They probably tweaked the output curve a bit. Maybe more torque peak or different peak , but power output the same.
 
Yes, they don't necessarily have to increase the total power. But it could feel a bit perkier with a few tuning changes ?

You're probably a bit limited on what you can say, so I won't ask any of the 100 questions I have :-)
 
I might be wrong, but I think @levity did a bit of research/experimenting with the SL early on and part of me thinks that @Rob Rides EMTB did a video which also showed the 300 which corresponded to the 240 Spesh quote which equally fits with the efficiency they claim.

Pretty sure that you are right. I recall that as well. Personally, the SL is fine for me from a power perspective. I get up anything that I want, albeit with a bit of a struggle given the slack STA. More curious if they changed the battery size at all.

It's difficult to guess for certain with Chris's figures .. is it ally ? is it a plastic derivative and he wasn't joking .

Is it heavy from proper tyres, or does it have a 480wh in there for climbing fun ?!?!? ....

4 weeks to go ....

i reckon the battery might be bigger as running a extender might not be possible with the lower shock mount !?

My SL climbs fine with current power. I use the SL when i ride solo. Hoping new Kenevo has slightly more power so I can keep up with FF ebikes on group rides. Otherwise I’ll just have to use my FF Kenevo

That's a good point. Rarely ride with FF guys anymore, but it would be a struggle to keep up if they were pushing and boosting.
 
I tweaked 1350Hm uphill out of the battery on my first test in 45/100 trail mode (12% left). So battery should be the same. 2000Hm in 25/100 on my SL is my max height reach with 2,9 Watt/kg average rider power output.

Seems about right if the prime has the same battery. You are fairly fit or light (in my estimate) with that 2.9w/kg figure, but that range seems reasonable.

This is mine with pedals, inserts, fox 40 and x2 with 500Wh battery which seems to be fine for plenty of laps at the BP. I could definitely get it down a bit more with RS Boxxer back on and RS air shock remove cushcore etc. Fun bike, but now I'd rather ride the Levo 3!
