Bike delivered under a week, not 3+ months waiting for delivery from China. Good to see listing of authorized dealers as well.
Curious how Amflow will handle supporting those bikes that were purchased directly from China before official launch in U.S.

It seems strange that Amflo has appeared on the scene while other brands are failing, under creditor protection, or bankruptcy.

Maybe it’s the DJI motor? Maybe it’s marketing?

Well they certainly wedged themselves into the big-boy market. Some of the smaller brands, or less innovative brands, are starting to crumble.

Competition is good imo …but I don’t want a one-stop-shop.

Yesterday went into our eLBS for something else and saw that they had become an AMflow dealer. Told them that I'd be interested in a pair of V2 bikes with solid state batteries. So obviously not holding my breath.

I haven’t seen or heard of any Amflo dealers (lbs) over here yet. Just a matter of time I guess. I wonder if they will merge or takeover an existing brand?

It seems like we are seeing a "phase shift" and not just an incremental improvement. The shift seems to have caught a lot of the big players "flat footed" for the most part leaving them looking fat and happy with what now look like "legacy" product lineups representing slight improvements each year.

Assuming buyers are not knowledgeable and are brand loyal I guess it is not an issue. The established brands will be able to sell heavy bikes with bloated frames, marginal suspensions and have the prolific reviewers churn out ratings with them best of the shootout.

However... speaking of the smaller brands, the more nimble companies with vision and insight have recognized that it was time to up the game and move toward the new, lighter, smaller, more powerful motors with frames that are less bulky and positioned themselves well for the what feels like a quantum shift "decade level change".

I see competition as the reality check that R&D is critical for future success. It is time for innovation - necessity is the mother of invention.

It’s my understanding that Amflow was created as the launch vehicle company for the DJI Avinox motor system, probably easier than trying to get an OEM on board initially, and will continue independently from here on in?

Whilst Avinox is starting to appear on a few brands now, they’re either high end/low volume or still a way from launching, so not quite the availability you’d think especially if you don’t want the Amflow frame.

Ultimately though, competition has to be good, as is choice.

I think it’s also country dependent to an extent, here in the UK if you stick with the motor assist limits then it’s not as clear cut versus other e-bikes, and perhaps the performance increase isn’t as noticeable. That would be different over there in some of the US states.

I’ve had less than 30 mins on a mates Amflow, and it was running in ‘NZ mode’, and for sure I can see why people would go for one.

For my trail riding and desire to stay UK road legal, it’s overkill though, and any e-bike is still a fun ride for me. Maybe I’m not typical as e-bike buyers go though, and let’s be honest people dropping £6k on e-bikes are in a minority in the first place.

Since my MTBs world is fairly small, BC is still on the map. I haven’t seen any Amflo bikes in our area though. (But they are probably here).

Trek is the only exclusive dealer in my area (I hope they don’t fail) but Santa Cruz, Spesh, Giant, Norco and a few others seem to be popular.

A few small products and manufacturers have popped up around here and I try to support them, as best as I can.

Here’s a sample of what DJI Avinox has done.
I’ve got two Specialized emtbs, one with Mahle drivetrain (Turbo Kenevo SL), another with Brose (Turbo Levo). In next few days, I will be taking delivery of two new emtbs to replace them, both emtbs with DJI Avinox drivetrain.
Reminder, DJI has done this on their very first attempt. What’s coming next, I can’t wait to see It.

Are you wandering into the dark side?lol

Interesting that everything is now branded Amflow. Even the motor casing and controllers have changed from DJI to Amflow.

That’s interesting Rob, is the DJI bike division becoming ‘Amflow’ now then?

Maybe - there's not a single reference I can see on their website to DJI. Even in the source code.

Amflow is the bike, Avinox is the motor.

It will be interesting to see what innovations come next, although I suspect without a paradigm shift in e-bike regulations it will likely be more incremental?

I wonder if they’ll get into drivetrains designed to take more power etc?

For me it’s the weight. We have a 32kh limit in NA which makes sense, but the batteries at friggen heavy so my endless attempt to lighten the load with carbon components …seems hopeless.

A new lighter battery will be the game changer for me. Is it graphene?

Interesting, I wonder if they are trying to differentiate their product names for how they are associated. I also believe that there are markets that DJI will no longer offer products to that could be associated with how drones and data can be sensitive.

Seems like this a response to the DJI hate in our current political climate. Seems like a calculated move to distance it from the DJI name to not warrant additional attention.

DJI didn't buy enough $TRUMP to get past the border while I'm sure US based drone manufactures did... drop the DJI name and the US market opens up.

If I'm being truthful and logical, I can see the issues with how DJI operates and the security concerns people may have but the push back does seem selective.

My guess is Lithium Sulfur.

Yes to DJI and no to marketing.

Its the highest powered bike, with a better price point than Specialized.

Shimano is garbage as far as reliability, and so the real sales are coming in with Amflow and next is Bosch with their new update. Specialized is selling but since they are taxing their base, they have limited their own sales with the Sworks having more power. They sold a few more Sworks that way, but in the end their cutting their own throats.

After those 3 your waiting on purchases made by people who didnt study prior to purchase

Completely agree. I was looking at the specialized levos again but the less power on the base models really turned me off. And the poor color options.

I have a CX Gen 4 + 2 EP8 bikes and I really want to get rid of the EP8s. Bosch is at least the best outside of DJI ATM. Shimano has been slacking for too long.

Already placed my amflow order

I like this bike alot but at 7499 I will wait till one of 2 emtbs dies. Ideal bike for me is sub 45 lbs, full power and 800 wh battery as I dont care about more power I want more range out of turbo.

Price is crap though. The value advantage it had elsewhere is totally gone, with the base model at $7,500.
I sort of agree but sort of don’t. The star of the show is the motor and it seems pretty competitive at that pricepoint (for those who care about power, which includes me).

At that price point though it's competing with basically every other brand, and many current or upcoming brands that also use the Avinox. I think part of what made it such a big success elsewhere was that it was not only a better motor, but also a significantly better value proposition.

If a dealer opens up closer than 600 miles from me, I'll probably give it a try, but I'm certainly not regretting my s-works frameset considering the price, and the lack of local dealers on the Amflow.

I do wish they had included a range extender bottle option (maybe they still can). Bosch gen 5 and specialized offer that..

That's really the only weakness Avinox has imo. I like the option of the range extender for big rides.
