In that case, you don't need the silicone spray either. Leave it dry and it should be all good. Main concern with the desert is heat. I don't know what the material spec is, but hopefully it's not PLA since it's prone to melting at those temperatures - especially if you leave the bike in a hot van or direct sun light while stationary.
