How to obtain discounts from Trek LBS

Hi all,
Looking to pick up my first ebmt Trek 9.7 2021 or 2022 from Trek LBS. Does anyone have any tips to obtaining/ negotiating discounts/ add-on etc before I lay down10 large? Thx.

Assuming that is 10k canadian you can save a couple of grand paying in USD......

Offer to pay in cash instead of credit card. Credit cards charge merchants between 1.5-3.5% per transaction. 1.5% off a $5000 bike would save you $75, not a lot but it’s something.

Price matching. Sometimes it takes a bit of searching but your LBS will likely sell for this price. Personally I’d rather purchase from the LBS. Warranty, exchange, service etc. Availability can be an issue though.

My local Trek dealer was told to stop giving discounts a few years ago but that has since resumed. I found that cornering the owner/manager privately can help…it worked for me, but the owner/management could not ignore my volume of purchases.
