How many trouble free miles are have you got from your TQ-HPR50 motor?

We have one of the very first Trek Fuel EXE's. We only have rolling countryside with long 10% climbs, so no rocks or steep climbs/descents. Our TQ motor has just gone over 2000 miles (3200 km). The motor feels like new. It has had a couple of software updates. Even the occasional momentary 'grinding' noise that these motors suffer from has not worsened over the last couple of years. Am very happy and am about to get a second TQ equipped eMTB as I like that it is nearly silent, very small and so subtle in its performance delivery.

Going to visit LBS again in few days.

I have 8800 miles on my Scott Solace eRide and motor still going strong. Battery bricked itself (replaced under warranty) for some unknown reason last year around this time. Sure it makes noises occasionally, but it has been rather consistent. Love it!

I want to share my extremely disappointing experience with the Scott Solace Gravel eRide 10 and TQ-HPR50, hoping it helps others avoid the same frustration.
I bought this bike for €9,999, expecting a premium product, top performance, and excellent reliability.

Reality? 4 warranty claims in 12 months.
🛠️
Total of 3 months in service.

I’ve completely lost trust in TQ motor system.
Here’s what went wrong:
1️⃣
Grinding noise after 1,000 km – Motor replaced under warranty
📹
2️⃣
Error ERR 5401 DRV CONN after 500 km – Display, internal wiring, and motor replaced
📹
3️⃣
Toasted SRAM Force D1 derailleur – Replaced under warranty
📹
4️⃣
Motor randomly cutting on/off after 1,900 km – Motor replaced AGAIN

After the last issue, I’ve had enough. I no longer trust this bike, and I’m deeply disappointed that something this expensive has been so unreliable.

I returned the bike to the dealer — thankfully, they accepted it back and refunded my money.

Dunno about miles but around 4k KM before a motor swap on warranty and im currently on 2k KM on the new motor.
The motor isn't loud, but fuel exe creaks a lot, and there isn't anything I can do about it.
I have have split the bike completely several times (chainstay, all pivots etc) and it stops the creaks for a while, but it only remain creak free around same length of time as if I just use some heavy chain oil on the offending parts and dry it off with cloth afterwards.

I've started getting an intermittent power loss problem, where the motor stops assisting for a second or two and then restarts again, no error messages are shown (but see below), but it only does it when running on the range extender. If the range extender has been depleted and I run on the main battery it's all fine, with no assistance drop outs.

I've done a bit of trouble shooting and I think I've narrowed it down to either the range extender cable or the socket that the range extender cable plugs into.

I've disconnected the main battery, put the bike in a work stand and put it in walk mode, then wiggle the range extender plug where it connects into the bike. Doing this I can reproduce the power drop outs, plus I get an error message (battery communication error).

I've ordered a new main cable set which includes the socket that the range extender connects into.

My gut feel is that the female 'pins' on the main socket have become slack from repeatedly plugging and unplugging the range extender, so that it makes an intermittent connection.

Just to follow up on this, the new main cable set has fixed the issue. So if you get intermittent assist but only when running on the range extender, then maybe you have the same problem.

My 3rd motor has just failed with an err049c, 400 miles and 5 months after it was replaced for the same error.

how long is the turnaround for new motor? Wonder if Trek would swap the TQ50 for the new 60?

I've ridden a Trek Domane + SLR 7 13,000 km.

I've ridden 160 times, approximately 650 hours, since the date of purchase on October 5, 2023.

The issues identified were: 1. Failure of the battery mount to the frame, corrected with new couplings between the two. 2. The control screen was replaced due to multiple failures. 3. The cable and speed sensor were replaced due to failures.

In September, I'll take it to the TREK dealer to request a motor replacement before the warranty expires, as the grinding noise has become more pronounced and is now much more noticeable.

My riding mode is 99% in custom ECO mode with a maximum assist of 80 w. It's just what I need to keep my group from overtaking me on climbs. On the flat (which is more difficult for me) and downhill, I handle well. I'm not using the other two motor modes for now.

Overall I am very satisfied with the TQ.
