Hi Folks
I have joined the forum to research my next ebike which is going to be an eMTB. I caught the bug after a day of ebike hire down on the South Downs with mates. To satisfy my more regular and immediate cycling trips into town I have just purchased a speed pedelec! arriving any day soon, but my heart pines for an eMTB and I want to make a good choice when I can next use my cycle to work voucher.
Until then we will be hiring eMTBs on weekend camps, looking for suggestions here too..
oh, it turns out my shiny tiny newish car can not carry bikes, unless taken apart and carried inside so a new transport solution will need to be found for adventures..
thanks all.

Fit a tow bar then you can use a tow bar mounted rack, but make sure it is eBike rated (ie can carry a bike at least 25kg).

Hi.
Yes that was actually my plan. But it transpired in my 2018 Fiesta it is not allowed.. Ford said that none of the usual accessories were coming up as available and to call a local family run trailer specialist. They took one look, basically opened the drivers door to where the vehicle weights and tyre pressures and pointed out the missing towing weight detail.
It could either be the eco low engine, vehicle tax class thing or that I have a pan roof/other electric pack or perhaps the loom does not have the tow connector, or whatever, legally I can not fit a tow bar even though Ford assure me all the bolt holes will be there.
The pan roof also strops me putting anything fin the roof, and apparently Fiesta’s cannot carry any thing on the rear door, it is too weak.
I am gutted, I love my car.

Call Phil Taylor Towbars, they are a long established company. Have used them for years, they are on the A3. 023 9259 4675

I’ve got a pan roof on my Golf and fitted Thule roof racks with no issue. Maybe worth a look.
Although most of the time, I just take the front wheel off (29”), drop the rear seats and the bike fits perfectly - would think your Fiesta would have similar capacity

You should drop into Giant in Guildford (I got my Reign E+ from there, even though I live 90 mins away). They're a really good bunch. You can chat emtb and transportation options - very knowledgeable team.
