About ten rides on new to me Heckler. Pedal strikes are down right dangerous and I am not even in rocky terrain. I know some have moved to shorter crank arms but I am 6 5" and need them as long as I can get. How much will the flip chip help? I'd hate to have to move to a 29" rear. Overall I love the bike but I am riding very tentatively due to a few scary pedal strikes and a lot of minor ones. TIA

My other bikes are a Pivot 429SL and Knolly Chilocotin and I have almost nil strikes on those even in rocks.

Almost every new MTB and eMTB has a stupid low BB. I seek out bikes that have higher BBs now and simply will not buy a bike spec'd with a 160mm or 165mm crank to compensate for this dumb design. So frustrating.

How does the bottom bracket height compare? Heckler vs Pivot and Knolly?
Are the pedals the same size and thickness?

If it's not the static sag and it's not the crank length, and it's not the BB, and its not the pedals, then it must be the dynamic sag. By dynamic sag I mean the sag you achieve when you are riding about.

In other words I would consider adding some spacers into your suspension to change the shape of the spring curve. In other words to make it stiffer the deeper into the travel you go. If you are 6'5", the chances are that you are also heavier than most riders.
I know that it adding spacers is easy to do on Fox suspension (becasue I've done it at both ends), so I'm assuming that it is at least as easy, if a little different, on Rockshox. YouTube or others on here will advise.

Dangerous? For real? Pedal strikes are common for folks who ride aggressively in rugged terrain.

Sit on your bike. How far is the pedal off the ground? It's just a few inches. How far is it when the bike is leaned over and you're really hammering? Is it any wonder that pedals get beat up?

Rear shock increase the low speed compression...

You could add another 10mm travel to the fork...
