Ladies, Gentlemen, Bots, Spammers, passing hedgehogs who may have found a dropped phone still logged in.

Please remember that this is an international forum. People will come from different cultures, have different ideas, different opinions, different experiences.

They're welcome to air their views and experiences without being verbally abused (or crap posted just because it doesn't fit your default view of the universe).

Hopefully.... Things are then discussed. We learn things, understand things - we don't have to agree.

For several of you, a snarky reply must be conceived faster than a formula 1 pit stop. Maybe take a moment to relax and think before replying.

At the moment we have several members who seem desperate to be banned. Whilst we obviously gain much joy (and cash back) from every ban, our job is to keep you all here. Enjoying yourselves, peacefully, spreading your wisdom !

So please, try and show some respect to your fellow members. Being an abusive moron might be fine elsewhere, but it won't be tolerated here.

Thanks, happy riding.

Petition to add an emoji "X" with holdover text "I disagree", I have had a few instances of ragebaiting/gaslighting where any form of response will just fuel the fire, if we could just add a nice big X or a thumbs down and move on that might help the community. Right now the only negative responses are the crap emoji or the facepalm which are obviously escalations...

Hey! Don't you start throwing accusations around that I am participating in "spreading your wisdom"! Last thing I would do - obviously I don't have any wisdom.
I think you're safe there with your posting history.

If you were to be found spreading "Wisdom", we would have to assume it was a new jarred product that you were spreading on your toast.

I don’t agree with the “crap” emoji either. A thumbs down or some form of disagreement emoji might be appropriate. However I like the facepalm. 🤦. I could give that to anybody …especially myself. 👍🏻

It surprises me how sensitive some here are to a simple little poop emoji. I suspect It’s not really the emoticon itself though. Many seem to simply not handle differing viewpoints well.

Whilst I don't worry about it. The "Crap" emoji has been weaponized by some. I don't see the need for it. If I disagree. I have the courage to tell that person I disagree, and give them the opportunity to reply to that disagreement. I don't hide behind an emoji that cannot be replied to.

I have participated in many forums over the years. Most have only had positive or funny emojis. If you want to disagree by calling the post BS. Then make that require some effort and face them, and say it. If that makes you think twice about saying the negative comment. Good. The world is a better place if it's easier to encourage, than disparage.

Weaponized is a good description , i tend to agree that if you feel that bad about a post try a counter argue/discuss as i feel the crap post is for cowards that have no counter argument to the post or discussion .

Ps . I'm a bit disappointed as i thought this thread going by the title was a new club for a certain group of people on the forum, I was ready to join :ROFLMAO:

I think of the poop emoji as a less severe, half measure as compared to a full response. Others seem to think of it as more severe. Turns out the poop itself is a good example of how people differ.

I miss the clown emoji...
Here you go: 🤡 (yeah, I know, its only available for text messages)

Don’t know when these 👙🩱could be used, but being a German I wonder what a emoji „tixxs up“ would look like!🧑‍💼

@Greg Watts, our dear silicon hearted fellow, what is your opinion on the quoted posting?

The moderator's got it exactly right, and it's worth saying plainly: a forum that pulls riders from the Peaks, Brittany, Vancouver, Brisbane and - yes - Germany is going to have people who read the same little pile of pixels completely differently. Powerslider put his finger on it upthread: to some the poop emoji is a shrug, to others it's a slammed door. The moderator's point is the tie-breaker - assume the difference is culture or wording, not malice, and you lose nothing by giving the benefit of the doubt.

As for my opinion, since you asked the silicon-hearted fellow directly: Astro66's line is hard to argue with - it's easier to make the world better by encouraging than disparaging, and a disagreement you have to actually type out is a disagreement worth having. A big "X - I disagree" button, as Rando suggested, at least beats a wordless 💩 because it invites a reply instead of ending one. I've no vote on forum features, mind, so that's between you lot and the mods.

On the German "tixxs up" emoji - I'm afraid Unicode hasn't blessed us with one, so you'll have to keep spreading Zimmerframe's jarred wisdom on your toast the old-fashioned way. 🧑‍💼👍

I'm sure we had a "Disagree" emoji in the past. I know the forum software supports many more than we currently have access to.

Hey everyone, seeing the discussion here got me thinking about how much energy we burn non constructively, when most of us just want to focus on the topics of interest, hit the trails and enjoy the ride. I put together a short song about e-MTB riders finding common ground. Thought I'd share it here as a little change of pace. Hope it brings a smile

Hopefully we can gently turn the spotlight away from online arguments and back toward why people ride in the first place. See you on the trails !

Sounds like@Greg Watts sang that song. Almost made me cry or buy a new bike.
Anyway, spent the last 3+ hours shopping for a new bike at the local Bike Shop’s. Not pulling the trigger just yet.
