Hi Newbie here,

Giant DPS-83CB A 41.8 v @ 2A

I have a Red flashing led .. no charge to battery !

Can anyone help with the functionality of the wires 5 way Neutrik connector.

I have tested the :- ( Charger plugged in & On ..)

Pin 1 = 34.5 vdc Brown 1mm sqd wire Main + to battery .

Pin 2 = 34.0 vdc White 0.5 mm sqd wire unknown function?

Pin 3 = 4.0 vdc Org 0.5mm sqd wire function unknown?

Pin 4 = GND Black 1mm sqd wire is the Main zero volts ( GND)

Pin 5 = 4.6 vdc Red 0.5mm sqd wire function unknown?

I’ m trying to diagnose if the BMS is not “ handshaking “ correctly to Turn on the main supply voltage out of the charger ?

Any steer on this would be greatly appreciated.

Derrick

Thank you 👍… I looked through the posts and there’s no specific information on tests in the 5 pin charger circuits… is there any signal function that is available to interrogate ref the the handshake to switch the charger output turn on ? … is it the BMS output to charger signal that needs a scope trace interrogate that’s it’s good to receive from charger ? Any thoughts on this function to test ? Thank you

Did you get anywhere with this? My Mum has an old Giant e-bike she's not used in a few years and I'm getting the flashing red light when trying to charge it which I assume means the battery is dead. I've not found any replacement batteries I can buy so looking into companies which can refurbish the battery so wondering given your post is more recent if you managed to get sorted.
