So I noticed that my cranks spin backwards together with the front sprocket and there's a motor drag. I have removed the chain to test this as well, and if I block the sprocket then it spins as it should (ratcheting sound) although with difficulty.
Now, is there something I can do myself to fix this? Quick googling and checking this forum, I found @Bearing Man answering a similar issue, that is a rusty axle and basically the whole motor needs to be disassembled.
As my motor is out of warranty (2022), is this something I should contact the shop where I got the bike from? I doubt we have the option to send the motor for servicing like you do in the UK.

Also, how crucial is this repair?

So that sounds like to me, you are describing the sprag clutch sticking. Ie now and again it will drive the chain backwards when you back pedal. And as you have found with a wee bit of persuasion it frees off.

Usually, it is a sign that there is moisture inside your motor. The bigger problem is what else is happening or about to happen if water is getting into your motor.

It would be a good time to get it serviced and maybe have ebikemotorcentre’s ( @Bearing Man )new gen 4 seal upgrade kit fitted.

According to the ebikemotorcentre web site they have a Croatian partner. So possibly they may be able to service and/or upgrade your motor.

That's what I was afraid of. Although the partner company is in Slovenia, that shouldn't be a problem.

Did some testing today, and had a feeling that the pedals want to push into my shoes after I stopped pedaling. So at one moment I lifted both feet and the thing was pedaling by itself like a motorbike.

Do you think riding it further can cause more internal damage? I have a trip planned and being without my bike would totally wreck my plans.
